    Title: What Is a Private Family-Friendly Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report from Asakusa to Akihabara Body: Because the guests' accommodation was located within the Tokyo Disneyland area, I proposed JR Hatchobori Station as the most convenient meeting point. Since the station has only one ticket gate, we were able to meet up smoothly without any confusion. The booking was registered for three adults and one child, but the group actually turned out to be four guests in total. I had been informed that they followed a vegetarian diet, and I had initially planned to take them to a curry restaurant in Naka-Okachimachi first. However, since they had eaten a fairly large breakfast, and taking the group's needs into account, I changed the itinerary to first bring them to Asakusa and then have lunch at a plant-based-friendly cafe in Higashi-Ginza. Because the portions at the curry restaurant would have been quite large, I believe this change was the right decision. At every location, I allowed a little extra time so the guests could enjoy shopping. I had planned to guide them through Akihabara at the end, but as some of the guests became a little tired, the guests decided to end the tour early. We caught a taxi in front of Sendagi Station and parted ways there.

    Title: What Is a Private Himeji Castle and Engyoji Temple Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a cheerful group visiting Japan for the first time. They were close friends who had traveled and sightseen together in various places before. Since one of the guests found it difficult to climb stairs, at Engyoji Temple on Mount Shosha we avoided stairs as much as possible and leisurely explored the Maniden Hall and the Mitsunodo (three halls). Afterward, we descended the mountain, got off the bus in front of Koko-en Garden, and had lunch at Kassuiken inside Koko-en. Kassuiken was very crowded, so we took a stroll while waiting for our turn. After lunch, we headed to Himeji Castle, where one of the guests went up to the second floor of the main keep while the others went all the way up to the top floor. There happened to be a live music band concert, and the area around Himeji Castle was very crowded, but this seemed to add to the experience as something special. The guests said every place we visited was wonderful, and they also seemed very satisfied with the meal at Kassuiken.

    Title: What Is a Private Osaka Walking Tour Like in Autumn? A Licensed Guide's Report on Sumiyoshi Taisha, Kuromon Market, and Dotonbori The guests were visitors who moved at a somewhat slower pace, but overall we were able to proceed smoothly. Sumiyoshi Taisha is typically very crowded during this season (October to November), and today as well, blessed with fine weather, there were many visitors for miyamairi and shichi-go-san celebrations. During this season there was also a lively atmosphere with food stalls, vendors, and monkey performances that are not usually seen. One of the guests purchased a zodiac wild boar figurine at a stall. The guests also visited to pray and picked up the small pebbles from the popular power spot "Go-Dai-Riki," as well as purchased a charm. At Kuromon Market, they bought Japanese-made chopsticks and ceramic chopstick rests as souvenirs. At Dotonbori there was not much time to spare, but the guests showed great interest in the crab and Glico billboards. For some reason one of the guests' SUICA cards became unusable, and when it was checked at a Nankai railway station, it appeared that the entry at the nearby Higobashi subway station used this morning had not been recorded. The guests were told that a subway station could handle this issue, and I asked whether they would like to go to the nearest station, but they said it was not necessary. As the guests planned to have lunch after the tour, we parted ways at Dotonbori.

    real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
    if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

    Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
    that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
    and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
    foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
    Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
    Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
    octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
    This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
    Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
    Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
    ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

    Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
    that you like them very much.

    Title: What Does a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour with a Licensed Guide Look Like? A Guide's Report The guests were a family group visiting from Europe. English was occasionally a little difficult to catch. Since all of their requested destinations were among the most popular sites in Kyoto, I began the tour after letting them know that every location would likely be crowded. One of the guests had left an IC card in the Hotel room, so for that person I had to purchase a ticket and fare, or pay in cash, each time we used public transportation. At Fushimi Inari Taisha, there was a long line for the Omokaru Ishi, so we skipped it and instead had the guests pass through the Neagari-no-Matsu, which they enjoyed. At Kiyomizu-dera, some of the guests took on the challenge of lifting Benkei's iron staff, which was a lot of fun. Near Sannenzaka, they sampled yatsuhashi at a local shop and purchased two packs. At Kinkaku-ji and Tenryu-ji, I shared historical stories about the turmoil of the Nanboku-cho period and the rise and flourishing of the Ashikaga shogunate, and they listened with great interest. They were not the type to take many photos, but at the Arashiyama bamboo grove they took many pictures. At the guests' request, we parted ways at Kyoto Station.

    What's a Private Day Trip from Osaka to Nara and Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. Although this was a Kyoto tour departing from and returning to Osaka, at their request we first visited Nara Park and Todai-ji Temple. The guests were interested in interacting with the deer and seeing the Great Buddha, and I believe they were very satisfied. We then headed to Fushimi Inari, so the transportation costs are calculated from this point onward. At the request of the guests, who wished to extend the tour time and visit as many places as possible, we also went to Sanjusangen-do and Nanzen-ji Temple, and I believe they thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere of the ancient capital and were very satisfied.

    What Is a First-Time Private Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on a Classic Sightseeing Route The guests were visiting Tokyo from Europe, and it was their first visit to the city, so I chose a classic sightseeing route for the tour. As they regularly walk and swim, their walking pace was very quick, and we were able to cover the itinerary as planned. Some of the guests did not eat fish, but as arranged in advance, I took them to a tempura restaurant where vegetable tempura was also available for lunch, which they were happy about. In Shibuya, I took them to the sky lobby on the 11th floor of Hikarie, where they seemed relieved to get away from the crowds and enjoyed the view overlooking the scramble crossing. This lounge is always uncrowded and is highly recommended. Overall, I believe the guests enjoyed the tour.

    What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America who had already spent several nights in Tokyo. We first headed to the Kyoto Imperial Palace, where, as usual, there were fewer tourists compared to other spots, so we were able to take our time and enjoy the visit. After that, we had lunch at a well-known local restaurant located near the foot of Sanjo Ohashi Bridge. As expected, we were able to enjoy a relaxed midday meal. From there, I guided them around the Pontocho area, Tatsumi Bridge, and Hanamikoji Street, and explained the Gion district. As always, the stretch from the Yasaka Pagoda to Kiyomizu-dera Temple was extraordinarily crowded, but along the way at a shop, the guests purchased some Kiyomizu-yaki pottery they liked, and I believe they were very satisfied.     Title: What Is a Private Hiroshima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Miyajima, Peace Park, and Shukkeien Garden The guests were a family visiting from North America. They had arrived in Japan just before the tour and, after staying one night on Miyajima, spent the day on a Hiroshima tour. Some of the guests had spent a few years in Osaka and understood Japanese. At Shukkeien Garden, the guests enjoyed feeding the koi, and even though it was right at the start of the tour, we settled into a relaxed atmosphere. At the museum, I asked the guests to observe the exhibits with appropriate guidance in mind as we toured the halls. Before coming to Japan, one of the guests had read the story of the paper cranes and had been moved to tears. After the museum, we had a light meal and began the Peace Park tour. At one of the statues dedicated to peace, the guests offered a paper crane and left a message for peace. When our time came to an end at the Atomic Bomb Dome, we concluded the tour.

    I was born and raised in Hiroshima. My first tour in English was as a volunteer guide for the visitors to my school when I was a junior high school student. It gave me a great opportunity to study about the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima.
    I spent my life in Hiroshima except for 6 years; 1 year in the UK as a student and 5 years working in Singapore and Malaysia. During this period I enjoyed meeting and talking with people from different cultural backgrounds.
    These experiences encouraged me to be a licensed tour guide.

    In Hiroshima, there are two famous World Heritage Sites, the Atomic Bomb Dome in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial & Itsukushima Shrine in Miyajima.
    I have experienced many tours of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum & Park since I was a junior high school student. I would like to introduce you to the a-bomb legacies that are still existing in the city and the stories under the mushroom cloud.
    I also would like to share time with you on a historic island, Miyajima. There is one of the most famous Shinto shrines, the Itsukushima Shrine. We can share an enjoyable time by exploring a sacred atmosphere, tradition, nature, food, etc.

    I am also an official ‘A-bomb legacy successor’ designated by the City of Hiroshima. An A-bomb Legacy Successor is a memory keeper of the A-bomb survivors. To ensure that the A-bomb survivors’ experiences and desires for peace are faithfully inherited and shared with as many people as possible, the City has started a three-year training program for official ‘A-bomb Legacy Successors. ‘

    What Is an 8-Hour Private Walking Tour of Yokohama Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a friendly and easygoing group visiting from North America. They stayed two nights in Yokohama before heading off on a cruise. They had been unsure whether to buy IC cards, but decided to get them after considering the convenience of getting around and the ease of not having to handle coins. The guests were active and had good stamina, so the 8-hour tour proceeded very smoothly. They thanked me warmly for guiding them so carefully and gave me a generous token of appreciation. I explained that IC cards remain valid for 10 years, so rather than seeking a refund, I encouraged them to please come back to Japan again, and we said our goodbyes.

    Before becoming a tour guide, I worked for a major steelmaking company as an engineer for many years. During my career, I lived and worked in both Germany and the United States for a total of five years. These experiences helped me understand different cultures and ways of thinking, which now helps me connect easily with guests from around the world.

    After retirement, I chose a second career as a tour guide because I truly enjoy meeting people from different countries and sharing Japanese culture, history, and daily life. I have been working as a guide for more than nine years and continue to enjoy every tour.

    I currently live in Tokyo, but I was born and raised in Kobe, near Osaka, and my family roots are in Kyoto. As a result, I have extensive knowledge not only of Tokyo but also of Kyoto, Osaka, and many other parts of Japan. I enjoy introducing both famous landmarks and hidden local gems that many visitors might otherwise miss.

    I am energetic, friendly, and very sociable. I always try to create tours that are relaxed, flexible, and tailored to my guests’ interests.

    Travel is one of my greatest passions, especially visiting hot spring resorts. I have visited more than 80 onsen destinations throughout Japan, giving me a deep appreciation of Japanese culture and regional traditions.

    What Is a Private Kyoto Tour of Fushimi Inari and Arashiyama Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. To avoid wasting travel time between Fushimi Inari and Arashiyama, I suggested exploring the Sagano area as well, which they agreed to. They were surprised by the contrast between the crowds at Arashiyama and the relatively quiet atmosphere of Sagano. One of the guests, who enjoys plants, photographed seasonal flowers here and there. They did not seem to want to take pictures of the crowded bamboo grove, so I suggested taking photos from inside Tenryu-ji Temple. They laughed at the story behind the name of Rakushisha and the tale of the sacred fence, so I believe they enjoyed the tour.
