Title: What's a Private Rainy-Day Tour of Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group from North America, visiting Japan for the first time. Spanish was spoken among the group throughout the drive. For lunch, I took them to a food court that offered Mexican cuisine, and some of the guests happily enjoyed burritos. Unfortunately, it rained that day, so I chose sightseeing spots with as much shelter as possible. Although the rain continued all day, I believe the guests enjoyed their first visit to Kyoto. This private tour was arranged through [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/), one of Japan's largest networks of government-licensed, English-speaking private tour guides serving all 47 prefectures.

Thanks for joining our tour. I’m Hiro Nakagawa, assigned to be your guide for this tour. I was eligible as a National Licensed Tour Guide in 2017. I have guided many tourists from overseas since then. Japan is a beautiful country with full of various attractions. Please enjoy your time in this country to the fullest. I will help you with that. What are you interested in this country? I will introduce this country’s long history, traditional culture, beautiful seasonal highlights, and delicious food to you. Please let me know your preferences. If it’s other than which I mentioned, I’m preparing it for you as much as possible. Let’s enjoy the trip together!

    Tour Itinerary

    • 9:00 Meet at Himeji Station
    • 9:20 Himeji Castle, Nishinomaru, Senhime Keshoyagura
    • 11:45 Koko-en Garden
    • 12:15 Lunch at Kassuiken in Koko-en Garden
    • 13:30 Tour of Koko-en Garden
    • 14:00 Himeji Station, End of Tour

What Is a Private Walking Tour of Himeji Castle Like? A Licensed Guide's Report We met at Himeji Station at 9:00, took photos at the station and a viewpoint, and I explained the itinerary. We walked through the arcade shopping street and reached Himeji Castle in heavy rain, proceeding while I gave explanations along the way. The guests listened with great interest. After reaching the top floor and still having plenty of time, I suggested visiting the Nishinomaru area. Around 12:00 we entered the Koko-en Garden, and since we could be seated immediately for lunch at the on-site restaurant, we took about 45 minutes for the meal. During that time I introduced some Japanese games, and afterward we toured the Koko-en Garden, walked back through the arcade street, and returned to Himeji Station. Since the guests wanted metal chopsticks, I introduced them to the third floor of the department store at the station, and the tour concluded there.

    Tour Itinerary

    • 09:00 Meet at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum
    • 09:30 Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park
    • 11:00. Atomic Bomb Dome
    • 12:00 Hiroshima Castle
    • 13:00 Hondori, disband

Tour Report Date: 2025/06 Locations: Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park Hiroshima Castle Guest: The guests Weather: Rain Experiences: Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park : Atomic Bomb Dome : Memorial facility for war victims Details: Today I had the pleasure of guiding a group visiting from North America. According to the prior communication, we had planned to meet at the Hotel, but due to the rain forecast, at the guests' request we met in front of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum instead. The group was traveling together on a trip to Japan. Hiroshima had just entered its rainy season the previous day, so the tour took place in unfortunate rainy weather. However, this was a 4-hour tour of central Hiroshima focused mainly on indoor sightseeing, including the Atomic Bomb Museum, so the impact of the weather was kept to a minimum. Some of the guests had visited Tokyo a few times before, while others were visiting Japan for the first time. They were especially impressed by the cleanliness of Japan, noting that there was no litter on the sidewalks.

Originally, I’m a cycling guide doing cycling tours all over Japan.
But, already done Hiroshima & Miyajima tour more than 400 times.
I traveled many countries in my younger days. I traveled Europe, US, China, India, US, Mexico, Peru Australia, NZ, and so on.
I decided to use this experience to become a guide.
I’m afraid but no tipping required, because cycling guides are not allowed to have tipping in my association. And you do not need to pay for my lunch, because my lunch is prepared by our group.
Please do not hesitate to ask me anything, I’ll change the plan according to your requests.
Thank you for your understanding and please stay connected.

What Is a Private Guided Tour of Miyajima and Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report It was raining, but the guests really liked Miyajima and even said they would like to live there. During the explanation in front of the Dome, one of the group asked about the reconstruction of Hiroshima, and although one of the guests looked a little uneasy, they still listened attentively along with the rest of the group. At the statue for the children, one of the guests listened with tears in their eyes and was delighted with the paper crane I gave them. At the museum, one of the guests came out saying it was too disturbing, so in the rest area I talked with them while showing photographs of Hiroshima's famous sights, which they enjoyed very much. They opened up to me, and we became good friends.

What Is a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Ueno, and Meiji Shrine The guests were visitors from North America. After staying in Kyoto, they had moved to Tokyo the day before. They were a very cheerful group. They mentioned that Kyoto had been very crowded. I had received advance contact, and their hotel had been changed to a different Hotel. Since they did not have a Suica card and were going to be in Tokyo for four days, we first purchased a Welcome Suica and then headed to Asakusa. They had already seen temples in Kyoto, but when I explained the meaning of the five-story pagoda and the Nio guardian statues, they said they had not known about them. From Asakusa to Ueno, and from Ueno to Meiji Shrine, we traveled by taxi at the guests' request. In Ueno Park, the museums and the zoo were closed on Monday, but as a result the park was uncrowded, which the guests were pleased about. They said that Ueno Toshogu Shrine was especially beautiful. We passed by Shinobazu Pond and went to a restaurant, where they enjoyed sushi. They were also delighted that Meiji Shrine was beautiful. Since it was exactly the season when the Japanese irises were in bloom, we also visited the inner garden and viewed the iris garden. The weather was cloudy and not too hot, so I believe they were able to enjoy the day.

What Is a Private Tokyo Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and Senso-ji The guests were a group from Europe visiting Japan for the first time. They mentioned that after sightseeing in Tokyo, they planned to visit Lake Kawaguchi, Hida-Takayama, Kanazawa, Kyoto, and Osaka. At Meiji Shrine, they seemed impressed by the quiet and solemn atmosphere, which was very different from Shibuya. At the Imperial Palace, they listened with great interest to the historical explanations about the role of the Emperor, the Meiji Restoration, and the Edo shogunate. At Senso-ji Temple, they listened with interest to explanations about the differences between temples and shrines, the Kaminarimon Gate, and more, and some of the guests purchased sweets along Nakamise Street. Since I responded according to the guests' wishes, I believe they were satisfied.

Title: What's a Private Full-Day Tour of Tokyo Like With Shibuya Shopping and Asakusa Kimono? A Licensed Guide's Report The meeting point and desired spots kept changing right up until the last minute, which made things quite challenging, but the tour was carried out without any major problems. As one person was absent, I guided the group on the day. The evening before, I had been asked to come to the Hotel at 11:00, but around 09:30 on the day of the tour, the guests emailed me asking whether I could come directly to a pancake shop in Shibuya instead. Since I was at Tokyo Station at the time, I contacted them via a messaging app to say I could arrive around 10:30, hurried to Shibuya Station, and joined the guests just as they were finishing their meal to begin the tour. The two main requests from the guests this time were shopping in Shibuya and a kimono experience in Asakusa. Since the restaurant where they had a 17:00 dinner reservation was in Azabu-Juban, I first took them to Asakusa, which was farther away. As they had not made a reservation, I chose a major kimono rental shop close to the station. Selecting kimono and getting dressed took more than an hour. Since taking photographs also used up quite a bit of time, at Senso-ji Temple we turned back at the Hozomon Gate without stopping at the main hall, so that we could return to the rental shop before 15:00. In Shibuya, the guests requested a liquor store where they could buy tequila. I managed to find one shop online, though it was a difficult task for me since I am not knowledgeable about alcohol. It was fortunate that the dinner restaurant was close to Azabu-Juban Station. We arrived a little before opening time and parted ways in front of the restaurant.

Hi. My name is Masafumi Miyazaki. Please call me “Sam”. I am a government-licensed guide.
I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.
I like reading, listening to the music, and walking. I belong to several walking clubs, and sometimes I guide the members around Tokyo.
One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. At that shop, I learned a lot of things related to kombu or other ingredients for washoku. I can explain the different characteristics of them to you.
Also, I am familiar with Japanese flowers and plants. If you stroll around a Japanese garden with me, I am sure you will be able to enjoy beautiful flowers and unique plants in every season.
I look forward to meeting you. Thank you.

The guests were interested in history and Buddhism, so at each place we visited I spoke about the history of Kamakura and about Shinto and Buddhism, which they listened to with great interest. They were also interested in nature, and I was able to introduce the hydrangea festival at Hasedera Temple at just the right time. Because the Hotel was near Kabukicho in Shinjuku, the streets were littered with trash the morning after Sunday; however, the guests were amazed that everywhere else we went was completely clean. For lunch, I asked the restaurant to reserve a tatami room, and the guests enjoyed their first experience of dining on tatami mats.

For example, how the Great Buddha was constructed, because I am a master of engineering graduated from Hokkaido University.
Please enjoy Japan with me. See you soon!!

What Is a Private Family Walking Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided a group visiting from Europe. When one of the guests arrived 20 minutes late, they seemed to be in a bad mood, but they listened carefully to my explanations about the shrine and even smiled, which was a relief. One of the guests was lively and leaned out over the platform door and touched the pine tree at Toshogu, so I gave a gentle reminder. The rest of the group were very considerate, and one of the guests asked me many questions about life in Japan. Since there are few trash bins on the streets, they asked what to do with an empty plastic bottle after finishing a drink. I explained that they could buy something at a convenience store and use the bin there, or simply carry it back with them. At Nezu Shrine, the guests enjoyed drawing omikuji fortunes and walking through the rows of torii gates. At Ameyoko, they bought Japanese sweets and Aquarius at a confectionery shop. At Toshogu, they paid the admission fee to go inside and were impressed by the decorations. By the time we reached Asakusa, some of the guests were clearly struggling with jet lag, but they persevered without complaint. In response to a request to eat sushi, I guided the group to a sushi restaurant, where the tour came to an end.
