They enjoyed a relaxed lunch in a private room. After lunch, we parted ways. A notable stop on the tour was the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. The East Gardens are a part of the grounds of the Imperial Palace that are open to the public, located in the heart of Tokyo. The area was once the site of Edo Castle, the seat of the Tokugawa shogunate, and visitors can still see the massive stone foundation of the former castle keep, which once stood as the tallest structure in Japan. Today the gardens are a tranquil green space featuring seasonal flowers, traditional Japanese landscaping, and historic stone walls and gates, offering a peaceful contrast to the surrounding modern city.

    Title: What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tokyo Walking Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America, enjoying one week of sightseeing in Tokyo and Kyoto before boarding a cruise around various parts of Japan. This was their first visit to Japan. They had already visited Asakusa, Nezu Shrine, and Hamarikyu, so for this tour I built the itinerary based on the destinations they had written down in a note that morning. Since they had not yet been to the Imperial Palace, and it was within walking distance of the Hotel, I decided to start by guiding them there. Coming around from the Yaesu side of Tokyo Station to the Marunouchi side, they said it was their first time seeing the Marunouchi station building from the front. From there, we strolled along the ginkgo tree-lined avenue toward the Nijubashi Bridge of the Imperial Palace. Along the way, as we talked about many things, they shared stories about their family and about the three dogs they keep at home. On Takeshita Street, when they came across a dog cafe and a capybara cafe, some of the guests expressed, perhaps out of concern for animal welfare, that they found it a regrettable situation. At Harakado, they seemed intrigued by its unique exterior, so we went up to the rooftop garden on the fifth floor, where I explained the surrounding buildings visible from there. Initially I had considered having lunch in Shibuya, but since the guests follow a plant-based diet, we decided to have lunch at a restaurant in Omotesando Hills that serves vegetable-centered cuisine. They seemed very satisfied with the food. At the Shibuya Scramble Crossing and the observation deck of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, the guests were especially delighted, eagerly taking videos and 360-degree photos. Finally, since one of the guests wanted to shop at a store in Ginza, the plan was to head there while introducing some iconic shops along Ginza Street. However, on the way, one of the guests said they were tired and wished to return to the Hotel, so I prioritized their wishes, saw them back to the Hotel, and ended the tour a little earlier than planned.

One of the guests did not seem especially interested in visiting each spot, but another was very curious and attentive, eagerly observing the townscape during our travels and asking many questions. It was impressive that the content from my explanations that drew particular interest was carefully noted down (a first-time experience for me as a guide). From inside the ropeway heading up to the Nunobiki Herb Garden, our first spot, and from the summit observation deck, the guests were delighted to be able to see the cruise ship they had arrived on. In the Kitano-cho Ijinkan foreign residences district, the guests enjoyed soft serve ice cream that had been introduced in the newspaper as the No.1 in Japan. Upon finishing the visit to this spot, the guests expressed a wish to end the tour as they wanted to have a Kobe beef lunch, so I guided them to a restaurant in the Nankinmachi Chinatown that serves authentic "Kobe beef," and we parted ways with about an hour and a half remaining. I suggested continuing the tour after lunch, but the guests said that since there was a shuttle bus stop near Chinatown going to the cruise ship terminal, they would head back directly. My impression as a guide was that one of the guests still wished to continue the tour, while the other seemed somewhat tired. I presented a handmade drawstring pouch, which was received with pleasure. A notable stop on the tour was the Nunobiki Herb Garden in Kobe. Located on the slopes of Mount Rokko and accessible by ropeway, it is one of the largest herb gardens in Japan, home to a wide variety of herbs and seasonal flowers. The ropeway ride offers sweeping views over the city of Kobe and its harbor, and the summit observation areas provide panoramic scenery of the port and the sea. The garden is a popular destination for visitors who enjoy combining nature, gentle walks, and beautiful views in a single relaxing outing.

    if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

    1) Tako-yaki
    Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
    octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
    This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
    Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
    Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
    ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

    Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
    that you like them very much.

From Asakusa to Ameyoko, the rain was heavy enough to require umbrellas, but by the time we reached Tsukiji the sky had cleared to cloudy. In Asakusa, they enjoyed shopping for sweets and toys along Nakamise Street, and when drawing omikuji fortunes, some of the group drew "bad luck" while others drew "good luck," and they all seemed to have fun with it. At Tsukiji, after strolling through the outer market, we had lunch at the food court on the third floor of the Uogashi building. As the final destination, we headed to Akasaka Biz Tower, which has a Harry Potter shop that one of the group loves, and they purchased some goods. They were calm and easygoing, and it was a pleasant combination to guide. The weather was a concern at first, but after Fushimi Inari the skies cleared up, and from then on we were able to proceed with the tour without any trouble, which was wonderful. By 8:30 a large crowd had already gathered at Fushimi Inari, and many people were lined up for goshuin (shrine stamps). Recently, goshuin have become very popular even among international visitors. At Kinkaku-ji there were many school trip students. Ryoan-ji, as usual, was less crowded. At Nijo Castle there were many group tours of international visitors. Originally, after the tour ended, I had planned to take them to Nishiki Market, but we changed plans and I saw them off at their Hotel, ending the tour. They decided to visit Nishiki Market on their own from the next day. The photo was taken at Kinkaku-ji. A notable stop on the tour was Fushimi Inari Shrine. Fushimi Inari Taisha is one of Kyoto's most famous Shinto shrines, dedicated to Inari, the deity of rice and prosperity. It is renowned for its thousands of vermilion torii gates that form winding pathways up the sacred Mount Inari. Visitors can walk through these tunnels of gates, each one donated by individuals or businesses, making it one of the most iconic and photographed sights in Japan.

A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Europe, and it was everyone's first time in Japan. I took them to Kiyomizu-dera, Sanjusangendo, and Fushimi Inari. The weather was perfectly clear, making it ideal conditions for the tour. However, since we started at 10:00 during the beginning of the sightseeing season, all of the destinations were very crowded. One of the guests had previously practiced karate and was quite knowledgeable about Japan. One of the guests commented that the crowds were a bit overwhelming, but another found Kiyomizu-dera impressive, while others felt the uniquely Japanese sense of mystery at Fushimi Inari despite the large crowds. Some of the guests purchased crab-shaped pottery at a ceramics shop. A notable stop on the tour was Fushimi Inari Shrine. Fushimi Inari Taisha is one of Kyoto's most famous Shinto shrines, dedicated to Inari, the deity of rice and prosperity. It is renowned for its thousands of vermilion torii gates that form winding pathways up the sacred Mount Inari. Visitors can walk through the tunnels of torii gates, which were donated by individuals and businesses, making it one of the most iconic and atmospheric sites in all of Japan.

    What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya We met as scheduled. At Tsukiji, the guests looked around the outer market and seemed very interested, though they did not eat or drink anything. Since we had some time, we stopped by Hongwanji Temple, where they admired how "magnificent" it was, so I was glad I took them there. At Meiji Shrine, the guests said they had visited on their own the previous day, but this time, with my explanations, they told me they gained a much deeper understanding. In Shibuya, I started with an explanation of Hachiko, then took the guests near the Inokashira Line ticket gate where you can photograph the scramble crossing, and they were delighted to get their photos. The guests strongly invited me to have tea or lunch together, so we had lunch, and since the scheduled time to part arrived while we were eating, we said goodbye after lunch. The conversation during lunch was quite lively, and we were able to end an enjoyable tour.

    Title: What Is a Private Kyoto Tour with Low-Mobility Access Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The day before, I had been informed that one member of the group might not be able to join, but as their condition had improved compared to the previous day, the group was able to take part together. In a prior discussion with the travel agency representative, I had heard that the guests preferred to avoid walking in places with significant elevation changes, so after meeting in the morning I suggested Sanjusangendo Temple and Nijo Castle, both of which have no stairs and offer wheelchair rentals. At Sanjusangendo, the group chose to walk rather than use a wheelchair. They appeared deeply impressed by the more than one thousand Buddhist statues. At Nijo Castle, we borrowed a wheelchair and I guided them through the Ninomaru Palace only. They viewed the many wall paintings with great interest. After taking a light meal at a rest area, I took them to a shiba inu cafe in the Teramachi area. Since the group had requested a place to interact with animals (they had originally hoped to visit a monkey park but gave up on it as climbing the slopes would be difficult), they were very pleased. The tour ended after I saw the group to the entrance. A notable stop on the tour was Nijo Castle in Kyoto. Nijo Castle was completed in the early 17th century and served as the Kyoto residence of the shoguns of the Tokugawa period. It is especially famous for its Ninomaru Palace, which features elaborate wall paintings and the celebrated "nightingale floors" designed to chirp when walked upon, serving as a security measure against intruders. The castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is surrounded by beautiful gardens that change with the seasons.
