    Title: What's a Private Tokyo Tour Like for First-Time Visitors? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a family visiting Japan from Europe. One of them had visited Japan before during their student days, but for the others it was their first trip. In addition to Tokyo, they planned to visit Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, and Hiroshima. For Tokyo sightseeing, they had also reserved Shibuya Sky and teamLab. For the first part of their stay in Tokyo they were staying at a traditional hotel, but after returning from the regional areas they were scheduled to stay at a very differently themed hotel. Everyone in the group was quite tall, and since I am short, I found myself looking up to speak with them. One of the guests, who plays volleyball, was well over 190 cm. It seemed one of the guests found this "tall and short combination" amusing, and actively took photos of the two of us as we talked. One of the guests, studying engineering, mentioned that their exchange program options included a Japanese university, which happened to be my alma mater. Because of this connection, there were many questions during the tour about that university and Japan's education system. I answered as much as I could, and when we parted ways, I told them, "Please come back to Japan to study someday." For lunch, at the strong request of one of the guests, we decided to have sushi. Since it happened to be lunchtime around Shibuya, we first went to Tsukiji Tama Sushi inside FUKURAS. However, it happened to be during the all-you-can-eat service time, and we were told there was a two-hour wait, so we gave up. Next, we moved to Shoei inside Shibuya Scramble Square. Here we were able to be seated right away, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the nigiri sushi. At Tokyo Station, I helped at the JR Central Shinkansen ticket counter. The Shinkansen tickets had been purchased online, but one of the guests had forgotten the password needed to display the QR code, and we struggled greatly trying to reset it, spending nearly an hour there. With the help of one of the tech-savvy guests and the station staff, it was finally resolved. Worried about the same problem occurring when actually boarding the next day, the guests changed to paper tickets and seemed relieved. The scheduled tour end time had already passed at that point, but after discussing it between the guests and myself as the guide, we decided to take a quick look at Takanawa Gateway Station and its surroundings before heading to the hotel. At Takanawa Gateway Station, we rode a mobile robot and enjoyed the night view from the upper floors of a high-rise commercial facility. Although brief, we thoroughly enjoyed the futuristic facilities, making it a very lively final stage. It was well worth pushing on a little to visit. We took the Yamanote Line back to Yurakucho Station and parted ways on the platform for boarding the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line toward Edogawabashi Station.

    What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. They mentioned that the day before they had been to Toyosu and Tsukiji. They already knew how to use the subway and JR lines, and seemed to be thoroughly enjoying their stay in Tokyo. First, I introduced some shops worth visiting near their hotel, and since they had watched the film "Godzilla Minus One," I pointed out the various Ginza scenes featured in the movie as we made our way to Tokyo Station. From there we walked to the Imperial Palace, and along the way I explained a brief history of the palace and the Imperial family. They seemed to have some knowledge of modern Japanese history and listened with great interest. Next, in Shinjuku's Kabukicho, they enjoyed the "Godzilla Action Show" that starts at 12:00, and then we headed to Meiji Shrine. There I explained the differences between Shinto and Buddhism and the influence each has had on Japanese culture. The guests were very interested in the differences between Shinto and their own faith, and asked many enthusiastic questions. In Shibuya, they experienced the scramble crossing on Christmas Eve, and finally at Sensoji Temple in Asakusa they enjoyed the "kake soba" they had long looked forward to, savoring this uniquely Japanese flavor. Although it was a rushed schedule in unfortunate rain, they energetically worked through the itinerary.

    What Can You See on a Private Day Tour in Fukuoka? A Licensed Guide's Report Rain was forecast, but we were hardly caught in any rain and were able to complete the entire itinerary. At Nanzoin, the guests viewed the reclining Buddha statue and then walked around to see the other Buddhist statues within the grounds. The view from Fukuoka Tower could also be enjoyed clearly, so the guests were pleased. Just before entering the tower, there was an incident in which a guest's phone was damaged, but since it could be covered by insurance, this was resolved without any trouble. At an electronics store, the item they were looking for could not be found due to a lack of stock, but in the end they were able to purchase the product they had in mind and finished the tour satisfied.

    What's a Private Day Tour of Himeji Like?     real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
    if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

    Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
    that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
    and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
    foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
    Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
    Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
    octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
    This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
    Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
    Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
    ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

    Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
    that you like them very much.

    Title: What's a Private Tokyo Family Tour with Kids Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Oceania who had arrived the night before and were experiencing Japan for the first time. They planned to stay in Tokyo before traveling on to Nagano, Kyoto, and other destinations. For this booking, a travel agency was involved as an intermediary, which made communication quite difficult. With a push from [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/), there was a response, but there was also a secondary travel agency further along the chain, so it was hard to reach the guests directly. It was only in late November, some time after the order was received in July, that I was finally able to get in touch with the guests. They did not seem very accustomed to travel and were anxious about transferring between JR lines and the subway. They had received an itinerary for after Tokyo and a JR Pass voucher from their travel agency, but were puzzled about how to convert these into actual tickets. I took them to the travel concierge at the Marunouchi North Exit of Tokyo Station, where everything was resolved. However, the reserved seats on the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Nagano were already fully booked, so we arranged for them to arrive early and line up for non-reserved seats on the day. The younger members of the group were well-behaved, so the itinerary progressed smoothly. Since they had come from the summer season in Oceania, some of the guests felt cold, so we took a short break at Starbucks for warm drinks. In Asakusa, they enjoyed melon pan, and since they wanted a stamp book, they purchased a goshuincho at a shop and received a hand-written goshuin at Asakusa Shrine, which delighted them greatly. With the rain and the temperatures not rising, and with some fatigue setting in, we decided to head back to the Hotel.

    I had worked in the international business scene for over 40 years and traveled to North America and European countries over 1000 days.

    Travelling along the JR central line where guests can stopover at major animation studios (it is not accepted to visit the inside). The majority of animation studios such as TMS Entertainment, SUNRISE, A1 Pictures etc. are located in this area. Suginami Animation museum, Studio Ghibli and Ghibli Museum are also located.
    Guests can feel old houses in the Spirited Away scene in the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum.

    I can also provide a pilgrimage to the sacred place (shooting location) for the Shinkai Makoto animation movies such as Your name, Weathering with you, and Suzume.

    Another interesting feature is to visit authentic Japanese style pub meals such as Yakitori, Karaage, and Sushi etc.
    Asakusa Hoppy Street, Ameyoko Street, Yurakucho, Shimbashi, Shinjuku Golden gai, Shinjuku Omoide Yokocho are nice to visit.

    Kawagoe is an old town developed in the 17th century. It has very close relationship with the Edo central government. Kawagoe castle ruins, Kitain temple and 500 Buddha statues will welcome the guests.
    These areas are renovated and provide an old days atmosphere.
    Japanese style sweets food stands will fascinate the guests.
    Kawagoe is about 1 – 1.5 train trip from Tokyo.

    Kamakura is the first Samurai worriers government established in the late 12th century.
    The Buddhism are introduced to Japan in the 6th century, and flourished at Nara and Kyoto later. A newer Buddhism sect such as Zen has well developed at Kamakura area.
    Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Gigantic Buddha statue at Kotokuin Temple and the flower temple Hasedera Temple are must-see.
    Kamakura is about 1 – 1.5 train trip from Tokyo.

    What's a Private Family-Friendly Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. Some of the group were visiting Japan for the second time, while others were on their first visit. Although there are Japanese restaurants where they live, they had wanted to try authentic dishes at local establishments in Japan. It was unfortunately rainy, but the guests said Meiji Shrine was the biggest highlight of the day. The Mameshiba (dog) café was especially enjoyable for the group as well. At the Tsukiji Outer Market, I took them to Sushisei, a place I always bring guests to, and they liked it very much. The staff kindly cut the sushi pieces in half so they would be easier to eat. We had originally planned to visit Asakusa at the end, but since the group had another appointment at 14:30, we decided to skip it. Guiding such a calm, smiling group felt like a Christmas present to me, and this tour truly made my day.

    What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like for a Family Group? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. The booking had been cancelled early in the morning the previous day due to a payment issue, but it was later reinstated. The guests were completely unaware that it had been cancelled, but fortunately I received a message via a messaging app on the previous afternoon, which allowed the booking to be revived. I was able to re-book the restaurant that had once been cancelled, and we were able to start the tour as originally planned. However, during the tour, an unplanned request came up to visit Ryoanji Temple. The schedule was already tight, and since the guests had a tea ceremony experience reserved in Gion from 16:00, I asked them to agree to switch to a taxi partway through, added the visit to Ryoanji, and kept things moving so we would be in time for the tea ceremony experience. I took them to Kiyomizu-dera Temple (including Sannenzaka, Ninenzaka, the Yasaka Pagoda, and Koshin-do), Nijo Castle, Kinkaku-ji, and Ryoanji Temple. The guests said that Kinkaku-ji and Japanese architectural features (such as cliff-style construction and decorative gable pendants) left a strong impression on them.

    • 09:00~10:15 Pass below Tokyo Tower, in front of Zojoji Temple, the Kasumigaseki government district, and the front of the National Diet Building, then circle halfway around the Imperial Palace clockwise, get off at Hirakawa Gate, and stroll through the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace.
    • 11:00 Exit through Otemon Gate and head to Akihabara.
    • 11:30~13:00 At Akihabara, split into groups of several people each and shop, play games, etc., according to their interests. The guide attends to the elderly couple.
    • 13:10 Gather and board at the same place where we got off. Head to Asakusa.
    • 13:35 Arrived at Asakusa for a late lunch, after which we planned to see Sensoji Temple, but the rain got a little heavier. After much discussion within the group, we ultimately decided to return to the hotel in Shibuya.
    • 13:35~15:00 Since we had a little time to spare, we returned to Shibuya from Nihonbashi via Ginza. It being year-end and also Christmas Eve, there was traffic congestion, and we arrived at the hotel at exactly 15:00 and disbanded.

    Private Tokyo Group Tour Report: What Is a Rainy-Day Walking Tour of the Imperial Palace and Asakusa Like? It was rainy and cold all day. The guests had walked about 10 km around Shibuya, Shinjuku, Meiji Shrine, and other spots on their first day in Tokyo, so after finishing the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, some of the guests told the group leader that they did not want to walk any further in the rain. (From my perspective as a local, it was not much rain at all.) When we arrived in Asakusa in the afternoon, the rain grew a little stronger, and one or two of the guests strongly insisted on returning to the hotel, so in the end everyone followed. The group as a whole did not particularly voice any complaints, but I could not tell the overall level of satisfaction. As for giving up on Asakusa so easily, they mentioned that after their trip to Kyoto they would return to Tokyo again and had booked a hotel close to Asakusa for that time, so perhaps they felt they would have another chance to visit. I also think the sudden drop in temperature compared to the previous days played a part. In addition, I keenly realized that it is not easy to bring together the opinions of a group spanning several generations.

    Who am I?
    I am a Licensed Guide Interpreter at an age of 61.
    I got an early retirement from 36 yrs of the employment in a Japanese financial sector.
    I hope I can attend to you with the Japanese politeness, hospitality and smile.

    and good Japanese local food around Tokyo, Hakone/Mt Fuji.
