Title: What's a Private Miyajima Tour Like in Cherry Blossom Season? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America who came to enjoy the cherry blossoms of Miyajima. One of the guests had studied Japanese during their school years and had once done a homestay in Japan, so they had held a strong interest in Japan from an early age. On Miyajima, the guests looked delighted every time they encountered the deer. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) is one of Japan's largest networks of government-licensed, English-speaking private tour guides, serving all 47 prefectures, and I guided this private tour of Miyajima. The guests were very fond of the cream cheese momiji manju, and wished to buy some again on the way back, but unfortunately the cream cheese variety was sold out and they were unable to purchase it. Since the guests seemed tired, I recommended they avoid the crowded JR line and instead take the Hiroden streetcar back to Hiroshima Station. However, I later learned through a messaging app that they were unable to secure seats on the streetcar either and had to stand for the entire hour-long ride back to Hiroshima Station. Had they waited for the next streetcar, they would have been able to sit, so I reflected on this as an oversight on my part.

    Hello,I’m Yoshiko.
Hiroshima is my home town, I love this city. I believe that Hiroshima is one of the best tourists’ destinations in Japan. In this place surrounded by natural beauty combined with abundant greenery and water flowing of rivers, you could have valuable opportunities for thinking the world peace and for reflecting on Japanese traditional culture that has been nurtured throughout Japan’s long history. I’m happy if you could enjoy your tour at my favorite city of Hiroshiima with me. I will introduce the charm and significance of Hiroshima, focusing on its two World Heritage Sites: the Atomic Bomb Dome and the beautiful Myajima island and Itsukushima shrine built over the sea.

Title: What's a Private Walking Tour of Tokyo Like on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America, and although they had shared their preferred spots in advance, some had already been visited by the previous day, so we discussed and adjusted the itinerary on the spot. Later in the day, the rain grew a little heavier, and once we finished the portion of the tour in Harajuku, the guests mentioned they wanted to return to their hotel to change clothes and would explore the rest on their own, so we ended the tour about an hour and a half earlier than planned. Although the weather was not on our side, I believe the guests still enjoyed the tour itself.

Hi, I am Nobu, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter (English).
I have been an English guide in Tokyo area since January 2017.
Tokyo is a wonderful city, and you may enjoy this city by yourselves.
Even so, I recommend you go around with a guide, especially if it is your first time visit to Tokyo.
A good guide will help you to understand about Tokyo and Japan as well as how to use convenient but complicated public transportations more effectively.
I am glad if I can help you to make your tour more enjoyable.
I am looking forward to meeting you in Tokyo soon!

Title: What's a Private Cherry Blossom Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Chidorigafuchi I guided a group visiting from Asia. The group was very fond of cherry blossoms, and the goal of this visit was to see the cherry blossoms. To meet their wishes, I guided them mainly to famous cherry blossom spots. In particular, since Chidorigafuchi is illuminated from 6:00 p.m., we set aside time there. Chiyoda Ward had well-equipped public restrooms, which was very helpful. The group was deeply moved to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom.

I am certified as a Top Guide by the JGA.
Drawing on my past experience as a guide, where I have consistently received positive feedback from guests, I will focus on the following key points in my guiding:
Explain the historical transition from Edo to Tokyo through engaging episodes and stories.
Offer a cross-cultural perspective on why concepts such as honji suijaku (the idea of local deities being manifestations of Buddhist figures), as seen at places like Meiji Shrine, represent a worldview that Japan can be proud of.
Provide warm and humorous interaction, incorporating the spirit of hospitality I learned while studying at Columbia University in the United States.
Use my experience working at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to explain Tokyo’s present-day situation with the support of statistical data.

Title: What Is a Private Nara Park Tour Like in Cherry Blossom Season? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Oceania, who had arrived in Nara the previous evening. On the day of the tour, the weather turned out to be beautiful, a complete contrast to the day before. The cherry blossoms in Nara Park were in full bloom, and everyone was truly delighted. Until lunchtime, the group spent much of their time enjoying the deer of Nara. In particular, one of the younger members of the group spent a relaxed time feeding deer crackers to the deer and interacting with them. The group moved together as one, staying close to one another throughout. When feeding the deer crackers, I found it very important to do so in areas where there are fewer deer. The deer can be quite aggressive in search of food, especially in the morning, so great care is needed when younger guests are feeding them deer crackers.

Let’s go out! The Kansai region was the center of Japan for a long time. It was from the 4th century to 19th century. Thus the Kansai region is rich in scenic and historic interest. Why don’t we see, feel, and find so many attractions in Nara Kyoto and Osaka. I was born and raised in Nara. Also I have been to Osaka and Kyoto for working, shopping and dining. I can show you not only major tourist spots but also shops and delicious food that only locals know. I am looking forward to sharing wonderful moments with you!

Title: What's a Private Full-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Station, and Chidorigafuchi Cherry Blossoms The guests were from North America, visiting Japan for the first time and traveling frequently around the world. The following day, more of their group was scheduled to arrive in Japan and join them, and all the arrangements for their trip, including a visit to Kyoto after Tokyo, had been left to others in the group. This tour was the only Tokyo tour they would do on their own. At first they only wanted to visit places within walking distance, such as Tsukiji and Ginza, but once it became clear that traveling and sightseeing by subway would be no problem with a guide, we expanded the itinerary. They were coffee lovers and seemed particularly fond of coffee shops. After visiting the Imperial Palace, we took a short break, sitting inside a coffee shop at Wadakura Park. For lunch afterward, I guided them to Gransta Yaenaka at Tokyo Station. Everywhere was crowded with long lines. We split into two lines, one for a tempura restaurant and one for an udon restaurant, and went with the udon restaurant since its turn came up sooner. One of the guests ordered shrimp tempura udon and was thoroughly delighted, saying it was the most delicious udon they had ever had in their life. At the basement food floor of the Nihonbashi Takashimaya department store, one of the guests was also very impressed and checked the location, wanting to come back again. In this way, one of the guests showed enthusiastic interest and enjoyment everywhere we went, while another of the guests seemed to have some difficulty walking, taking out a cane partway through, and appeared especially tired toward the end. At their request, I found a massage shop near the hotel online, but when I called, it appeared to be no longer in business, so I was unable to actually take them there. The cherry blossoms at Chidorigafuchi were in full bloom, and the moment the guests came up from the subway station to street level, they were captivated by the blossoms. Earlier in the tour, one of the guests could not immediately find the 24-hour subway ticket they had purchased and was gently scolded for it, but near the end of the tour, another of the guests could not find their ticket at all, so we ended up purchasing tickets for the remaining two rides. There was a moment of friendly teasing about who had lost the ticket, but I managed to smooth things over and everyone made up. Once we got near the hotel in Tsukiji, they seemed reassured, and although I had intended to see them all the way to the hotel, a little before reaching it they said that since their room was small, they would rather stop by a nearby coffee shop and relax over a cup of coffee. I was kindly invited to join, but as it was getting late, we parted ways there.

What's a Relaxed Cherry Blossom Private Tour of Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. Some of the guests had been to Japan several times before, so this time they wanted an itinerary that would be as relaxing as possible, with fewer crowds, while still including famous cherry blossom spots. To meet this request, I introduced and included Hirano Shrine and Daitoku-ji Temple in the tour. The guests enjoyed both spots at a leisurely pace. However, they really wanted to see Kinkaku-ji Temple, so we decided to visit it, turning back midway through the garden. We also considered visiting Ginkaku-ji Temple as part of the flow, but it was crowded due to a limit on the number of people allowed into the garden, so we skipped it. Instead, we took commemorative photos along the Philosopher's Path and enjoyed the garden of Heian Shrine as an alternative. Finally, the guests looked down over the city of Kyoto from Shogunzuka, and I saw them off at their hotel to end the tour. It turned out to be a fulfilling tour.

Title: What Does a Full-Day Private Tokyo Tour Cover? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, the Imperial Palace, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya We met slightly before the scheduled meeting time. We started after the guests purchased a PASMO card at the ticket machine at the nearest Asakusabashi Station on the Toei Asakusa Line from the Hotel. At Tsukiji, they seemed very interested when I explained the history of Hongwanji Temple and the relocation of the market, as well as how the former market site was used as a parking lot during the Tokyo Olympics. The guests from North America appeared to be familiar with fish and compared them to those from their home region. Since they said they wanted to try tuna, we stopped at a standing-style eatery, and the group happily enjoyed a plate that included a set of otoro and toro. At the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, they explored carefully, focusing mainly on the plants. They also showed a fair amount of interest in the history I explained. At Meiji Shrine, they were impressed by the solemn forest and the shrine. They did not seem very interested in souvenirs, and even when I took them to a shop, they left quickly. Since there was still time, we went to the entrance of Takeshita Street and I gave an explanation. Finally, in Shibuya, I explained about Hachiko, and after crossing the intersection, they were once again impressed by the sheer number of people. I took them to a spot where they could take a photo of the intersection, handed them a paper with directions for the way back to the Hotel, and we parted ways there. They appeared to be very satisfied.

Hello, I’m Masaaki Kurata. I have been conducting walking tours in Asakusa, Ueno, Yanaka and the East Garden of Imperial Palace since I joined an English guide volunteer club in 2016. I worked for 2 U.S. based companies in Tokyo for 41 years and retired in 2023. I developed good communication skills with people from other countries in my long career in those 2 companies. I was born in the suburb of Tokyo and I’m familiar with Tokyo pretty much. Since I retired and do not work for a company any longer, I can be flexible in making itineraries. I really want to make tourists happy by making fun and interesting communication.

Title: What Is a Private Day Tour of Miyajima and Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a visitor group from North America. They toured Itsukushima Shrine at high tide and Miyajima with its cherry blossoms in full bloom, enjoyed a leisurely lunch, and then spent time shopping along the Omotesando shopping street. From the outset, the guests wished to avoid being tied to boat reservation times such as the World Heritage Sea Route, so they requested a private chartered car for the full day, and were able to spend time at a relaxed pace both on Miyajima and at the Peace Memorial Park. As photography and videography were among their interests, they enjoyed taking a great many photos and videos at each place they visited.

    Welcome to Hiroshima.
My name is Hiroshi Tsuji, a licensed guide based in Hiroshima and Miyajima. My family has been connected to Miyajima for more than 300 years, and I am pleased to share the history, culture, and daily life of this unique island with visitors from around the world. Please feel free to call me Hiroshi.
With a background in outdoor sports—including rock climbing, scuba diving, and long-distance triathlons—I have completed several Ironman races abroad. I studied in Kyoto and later worked in management at a publicly listed company, which allowed me to live in many different regions of Japan and develop a deeper understanding of the country’s diverse culture and history.
In Hiroshima, I guide guests through the Peace Memorial Park, including the Atomic Bomb Dome, and share perspectives on the history of Hiroshima and modern Japan.
In Miyajima, I introduce Itsukushima Shrine, Mount Misen, the island’s beautiful scenery, and its local cuisine. As someone whose family has been connected to Miyajima for generations, I also enjoy sharing local insights and experiences that offer a more personal connection to the island’s culture and way of life.
I look forward to welcoming you to Hiroshima and Miyajima.

The original plan was to visit Asakusa at the end of the day and see the cherry blossoms, but on the day I learned that the trees along the Sumida River were still not blooming much, so instead I took them to Yoyogi Park, where the blossoms had come out further. As we talked, I also learned that they had a strong interest in vintage shopping and in design-focused architecture and products, and the guests requested that we go to more shops of that kind today, saying they would visit Asakusa on another day. So I introduced them to places they might enjoy in Omotesando and Shibuya. They were familiar with Tadao Ando, and it was very memorable how they listened with great interest to my explanation of the architectural design of Omotesando Hills, and how they were delighted by the interior and the cup designs at a cafe we stopped by on Cat Street.

Hello, my name is Yui, and I am a licensed tour guide interpreter.

I mainly guide visitors in and around Tokyo, where you can experience both the excitement of modern city life and the charm of traditional culture. Japan is a country where history and the present exist side by side, and this unique balance makes every visit full of discoveries. I believe there is always something that will capture your heart, whether it is food, fashion, history, or daily life in Tokyo.

Since I also work as a Japanese language teacher, I can help you learn a few simple phrases during the tour if you are interested. Using Japanese to greet or chat with locals will surely make your trip even more enjoyable and memorable.

I hope you will take home wonderful memories, and I sincerely wish you enjoy your stay in Japan.

Title: What's a Private Kobe Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Okurayama Park, Nada Sake District, and Kobe Beef The guests wished to visit Okurayama Park in Kobe, where a memorial stone is inscribed with the names of those who perished in the Kobe air raid, as one of their ancestors who had run a business in Kobe was among the victims. Although the name had been changed to a Japanese name, I was able to find a possible match on the memorial. Since the guests were interested in Japanese sake, I guided them to the Nada district. Some of the guests enjoyed sake lees ice cream. One of the guests purchased sake made using a rare traditional method and seemed very satisfied. We concluded the day by heading to a restaurant serving Kobe beef, which the guests had requested for dinner.
