Title: What's a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Nijo Castle, Kinkaku-ji, and Ryoan-ji The guests were an older group visiting from North America. They had come to Japan for travel, first spending time in Tokyo before continuing on for sightseeing in Kyoto, which was their first time in the city. I took them to Nijo Castle, Kinkaku-ji, and Ryoan-ji. Since one of the guests had difficulty walking and could not walk very far, we used taxis for most of the transportation, which allowed us to proceed through the tour with plenty of time to spare. The weather was ideal for sightseeing. Although a shrine visit had not originally been planned for the tour, we made a brief stop at a shrine (Wara Tenjin) on the way to a restaurant, and I gave an explanation of the shrine. Both of the guests said they especially enjoyed Ryoan-ji. They mentioned that Ryoan-ji gave them a great deal to reflect upon.

Hello, welcome to Japan you all.

I’m a resident of Ebina, Kanagawa, and am a national government licensed guide and interpreter.
I enjoy showing travelers both the new and old of central Honshu, primarily Tokyo and Kanagawa, ranging from Meiji Shrine, Edo Castle, Tsukiji Outer Market, Ueno, Asakusa, Ginza, Ginza Sky Farmstead, Shibuya Zebra Crossings, Yokohama, Kamakura, to Hakone, not to mention Mt. Fuji, and sharing views with my guests on Japanese homes and their surroundings, Japan’s labor productivity and labor market, among others.

I also enjoy introducing travelers to Japanese culture through home visits with Japanese families, touring Zen temples, and explaining the intricacies of Japanese culture.

I am happy to arrange personalized tours to other places of your interest.
I am making the most of my long experience as a foreign language education service, escorting VIPs at the Sony showroom in Ginza, Tokyo.
I also offer services to help families and individuals relocating to Japan with immigration VISA applications.

My hobbies are movies, strolling along the river in my neighborhood and am a novice at la lingua Italiano.
Let’s enjoy touring together, shall we?

Title: What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Tsukiji, Meiji Shrine, and Harajuku Body: The guests were visitors from North America. One of the guests had practiced judo for 13 years, and their bow was deep, polite, and well-practiced, though they mentioned they were not good at sitting in the seiza position. At Tsukiji, one of the guests bought sake cups and sake measuring boxes for a friend who enjoys Japanese sake. For lunch at Tsukiji, one of the guests had udon with soft-set egg, another had udon with pork trotters, and I had kitsune udon. Since we finished visiting Asakusa, Tsukiji, Hamarikyu, and Meiji Shrine earlier than scheduled, I guided the group through the Harry Potter shop in Harajuku, the Oriental Bazaar, and Cat Street, all the way to Shibuya. On the rooftop garden of Harakado, one of the guests asked, "Do you come to this area often?" I replied, "This is a town for young people." They joked, "You should have dyed your hair." I answered, "I don't have enough hair left to dye." As we took the elevator down, some elderly ladies got on. I said quietly, "It's not only young people here after all." The guests laughed. One of the guests took a liking to Kiddy Land and chose a mascot to attach to a bag. Apparently "KAWAII" has now become an English word. At the end of the tour, as we said goodbye, one of the guests asked, "I'd like to post that this was a wonderful tour — how should I do that?"

    Tour Itinerary

    • 10:40 Tsukiji Outer Market
    • 12:50 Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple
    • 13:00 Dismissal

Title: What Is a Private Toyosu and Tsukiji Food Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report We met on time and I first guided the guests to the tuna auction viewing area in the seafood building at Toyosu Market. Next, I showed them the intermediate wholesaler building for seafood other than tuna, as well as the restaurant area. After that, I guided them through Senkyaku Banrai, but since it was before 10:00, quite a few shops were still not open. The guests had told me they had skipped breakfast and come hungry especially for today's tour, so I suggested that Tsukiji would be better if they wanted to enjoy trying a variety of foods, and we moved on to Tsukiji. At Tsukiji, the guests each enjoyed items to their own liking, such as onigiri, gyudon, tuna rice bowls, matcha drinks, and daifuku, and they seemed very satisfied. Finally, I gave a brief explanation of Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple, and the tour ended on time.

What Is a Private Day Tour of Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari, Gion, and Arashiyama The guests were a group visiting from North America. They had a very calm and warm atmosphere, and everyone was kind. At Fushimi Inari Taisha, they bought amulets, prayed, and I introduced the Omokaru-ishi stones and the Nezuki-no-Matsu pine tree. Since there was a little extra time in the plan, I introduced Sanjusangendo on the way to Gion. Gion was crowded due to the Miyako Odori dance performances, but we had lunch at a traditional Japanese restaurant called Hanasato, where the guests kindly treated me as well. We headed to the Bamboo Grove Path in Arashiyama, took photos with the flowers in full bloom in the garden of Tenryu-ji Temple, and then went to Nishiki Market. As there was a little time left, I introduced a few shops before ending the tour.

Hello, my name is Harumi, and I am a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in Japan. I have been actively involved in volunteer activities for many years, sharing my passion for Japanese culture and history. What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe traveling together. They were experienced travelers and quick on their feet, which resulted in a smooth itinerary. They were unsure how to use public transportation (the previous day they had reportedly walked from Suidobashi to Asakusa and Ueno), and since they did not plan to purchase IC cards, I explained in detail how to use JR and the subway, how to read fares, and how to buy tickets. At Shinjuku Gyoen, they were delighted by the late-blooming cherry blossoms, azaleas, and the Japanese garden. At the Imperial Palace, they had many questions about history and the imperial family, and it seemed they had done some research in advance. They mentioned they do not eat much fish, but at lunch in Omotesando they were very fond of the fried white fish. They did not seem particularly interested in Takeshita Street, but they were surprised by its contrast with Meiji Shrine and enjoyed the Shibuya Crossing.

What Is a Private Kyoto Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari and Nishiki Market The guests were visiting from Europe. Some of the guests had traveled extensively across Asia and asked several questions about Buddhism. I found it difficult to answer when asked about the differences between Buddhist rituals in different Asian countries and in Japan. When I mentioned that the first of the thousand torii gates at Fushimi Inari was donated by a major advertising company, the guests, while noting it was a competitor, still took a commemorative photo with that company's name in the background. Having personally traveled to Europe before, I enjoyed sharing stories and looking at my own photos from that trip together. I was surprised to learn how high the cost of living was there, with rent feeling about twice that of Osaka. At each site, the guests enjoyed the atmosphere as we walked. I took them to Nishiki Market before we parted ways.

Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Hakodate's Goryokaku Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America, and it had been a while since their last visit to Japan. I have visited their home region several times, so it was a pleasant, nostalgic moment to be able to talk about the famous and beautiful parks there. At the guests' request, we moved the tour start time one hour earlier. We visited the Goryokaku Tower and park, as well as the former Soma Family Residence. It had been about a year since I had last been to the former Soma Family Residence. It had been considerably renovated and now had the neat, well-organized atmosphere of an art museum. In addition, the guiding, which used to be free, had changed to a paid service. It was also now possible to listen to an English audio guide through headphones. Perhaps because we visited during lunchtime, we were the only visitors. The guests walked very energetically throughout. The photo was taken at Goryokaku Park.

I was born and grew up in Kyoto and now live near Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. I used to be a schoolteacher of English and welcome a lot of students from foreign countries. I really enjoyed showing them around Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Himeji, and Hiroshima. I have been a professional tour guide for about 8 years. I always try to let my guests learn Japanese traditional and modern culture. Since I was born in Kyoto, I know a lot about its culture and people. I myself enjoyed several sports, such as soccer, judo, and marathon when I was young. I’m much interested in baseball and sumo. My motto as a tour guide is to let my guests learn about our tradition and culture precisely and really enjoy themselves. I strongly hope you will enjoy the tour in Japan with me.

What Is a Private Naoshima Art Island Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. During their stay in Japan, they planned to travel from Tokyo to Takamatsu, then Naoshima, Teshima, Uno, Kurashiki, Hiroshima, back to Tokyo, then Kyoto, Osaka, Asia for a few days, and back to Tokyo before returning home. They visited Naoshima because of their interest in art. Although Teshima was a tight fit in their schedule, they very much wanted to see it as well. They planned to meet up with someone studying in Tokyo during this trip. The day before the tour, the guests had already visited the Naoshima New Museum of Art, the I Love Yu bathhouse, the Red Pumpkin, and the Naoshima Pavilion on their own, which gave us some extra flexibility the following day. Before parting, I explained how to get around Teshima the next day, including the ticket office, the ticket sales start time, and the high-speed boat boarding area. The guests listened very attentively to my guiding, and it was a pleasure to guide them.

Hello. My name is Hisao Kaji. I was born in 1945. I was raised in Takamatsu City from 3 years old. So, I have been living in Takamatsu for around 75 years. I believe I know Takamatsu City and the Kagawa prefecture area very well. If you come to Takamatsu, Kagawa I think you can enjoy your tour with me. I started a Government Licensed Guide in 2019. So, I have been a licensed guide for about 5 years. My favorite destinations are Naoshima, Teshima, Ritsurin Garden, the top of Mt. Yashima and so on. I always show you an itinerary about one month before your tour date, and I will accept any questions, other favorite places you want to visit. Communicating with you, I would like to accommodate your request for your tour. I always listen to NPR on the internet to know how the world is moving and improve my English. I like conversation based upon it with my life. I stayed in the USA for 8 months for a Power Systems Engineering Course conducted by General Electric in New York State when I was 28 years old. I sometimes talk about my memory of those days with the guests. I am very happy to guide tourists because I can see the guests become happy and enjoy themselves when I am guiding better. Nothing is more wonderful than that. I welcome your visit to Takamatsu City and Kagawa Prefecture. I believe you will have a pleasant time through my guide.

Title: What Is a Private Full-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on the Imperial Palace, Tsukiji, and Asakusa The guests were a group from Europe, visiting Japan for the first time. They were planning to depart on a cruise tour a couple of days later. At the Imperial Palace, they listened with great interest to historical explanations about the role of the Emperor, the Meiji Restoration, and the Edo Shogunate. At the Tsukiji Outer Market, they were surprised by the large number of shops and tourists. At Senso-ji Temple, they were interested to hear explanations about the differences between temples and shrines, as well as about Kaminarimon Gate. At the Edo Taito Traditional Crafts Museum, which we visited at the guests' request, they showed interest in the traditional crafts that have continued since the Edo period. At Kappabashi Kitchenware Street, they visited several shops selling cooking knives. Since I responded exactly as the guests wished, I believe they were satisfied.
