Born in Yamagata, I’ve been involved in English teaching for more than 40 years. Now retired, I’m a freelance government-licensed guide/ interpreter. My clients are for the most part passengers on the cruise ships dropping by Sakata Pier, Yamagata Prefecture. I can show you around not only Sakata area , Tsuruoka area as well, which is literally a treasure house of scenic beauty and historical interest all over the regions. You can experience everythig from
matcha drinking, sake tasting to hiking on the 2,4446 stone steps lined with gigantic 500-year-or-over-old cedar trees all the way to Mt. Haguro.
Why don’t you forget about the hustle and bustle of your urban lives and visit Yamagata just to get off the beaten track! I’m sure that you can definitely dive deep into Yamagata’s amazing nature and rich cultures. My motto in life is treasuring “once-in-a lifetime encounter. You should have unforgettable experiences with me. Thanks. Pure Water
