Tour Itinerary

  • 5:00 Meet at Hotel. Guests take a taxi to Shijo-mae.
  • 5:30-6:30 Watch the tuna auction at Toyosu Market.
  • 6:30-7:30 Breakfast at a sushi restaurant inside Toyosu Market.
  • 7:30-8:15 Take the Yurikamome from Shijo-mae to Shiodome. Then walk to Tsukiji Market. Disband on site.

Title: What Is an Early-Morning Tuna Auction Tour at Toyosu Market Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

I drove my own car to a hotel in Ginza. Since it was very early in the morning, the main entrance was closed. I explained the situation through the intercom and entered the hotel.

I met the guests. I hailed a passing taxi, had the guests get in, and then drove myself to the parking lot in front of the market.

I walked to the meeting point but missed meeting the guests at first. We contacted each other via a messaging app and succeeded in meeting shortly after. We watched the tuna auction.

It seems the driver could not clearly understand where to drop them off.

From next time, I will change the on-site meeting point with guests from the market-front station entrance to the convenience store inside the commercial facility. The landmark is large and clearly marked in Roman letters, so it is easy to recognize from outside. There is also a restroom, and since it is indoors, it stays warm even in winter.

Some of the guests had visited Japan several times before and had also visited the former Tsukiji Market quite a long time ago. They seemed deeply moved by the development of the waterfront area seen from the window of the Yurikamome line.
