What's a Private Tokyo Tour of Toyosu and Tsukiji Fish Markets Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were visitors from Europe. They were very lovely to guide. At first they had wished to visit a particular shop inside Toyosu Market, but after watching the tuna auction they asked to be taken to a restaurant serving top-quality tuna, so we changed our plans on the spot and I took them to a sushi restaurant. They mentioned they had previously dined at a high-end sushi restaurant abroad, so I was a little nervous about whether it would suit their taste, but they seemed thoroughly delighted, saying they had enjoyed a wonderful breakfast.
After the meal, the guests wished to explore Tsukiji Market as well, so we headed there by an Uber arranged by the guests.
They enjoyed strolling through the market and shopping for a kitchen knife and green tea. Since they wanted to take their time in the market, we parted ways on site at 8:05.

Top Notch/Highly Recommended Fish Market Tour
This is a must see experience in Tokyo and our tour guide Mami was top notch and world class. Tour started with a visual viewing of the fish auction which included a full explanation of the history, operations, products and logistics of the market itself. Fascinating. Second half of the trip involves a food/vendor tour of the Tsukjii market area. We purchased a knife and sampled Wagu beef from a vendor. Bluefin tuna line was too long and we missed that opportunity. This tour was fantastic and the highlight of my trip. Mami is a world class tour operator and will be remembered. Thank you Mami!

Fish Auction and Market guide with Mami – excellent guide arrived at our hotel on time and
came with us to auction. Very knowledgeable. After the auction we also wondered with her
around the markets – provided good local tips on what foods to try best quality and price.

Vroeg opstaan maar dan heb je ook wat! Onze uitstekende gids Mami was ruim op tijd in ons hotel en samen pakten we een taxi naar de visveiling. Om 5.30 begon het bieden, echt fantastisch om te zien. Er is een observatie dek dat over de grote veiling vloer uitkijkt waar je honderden tonijnen ziet liggen.
Verder geeft onze gids ons ook nog andere gedeeltes van de veiling laten zien zoals kleinere vissen, schelp en schaaldieren en groente.
Tenslotte hebben we een taxi genomen naar de oude veilingsite waar nu een markt is met allemaal leuke winkels en restaurantjes. De gids wist veel te vertellen, paste haar tour aan onze wensen aan en sprak goed Engels. Een aanrader !

早起きは大変ですが、それだけの価値があります！
私たちの素晴らしいガイド、マミさんはホテルに予定より早めに来てくださり、一緒にタクシーで競り会場へ向かいました。午前5時30分に競りが始まり、その様子は本当に見ごたえがありました。
観覧デッキからは広大な競り場を見下ろすことができ、そこには何百ものマグロが並んでいました。
その後、ガイドは競りのほかのエリア（小型の魚、貝類や甲殻類、野菜など）も案内してくれました。
最後に、旧市場の跡地にある築地場外市場へタクシーで移動し、たくさんの楽しいお店や飲食店を巡りました。
ガイドは知識も豊富で、私たちの希望に合わせてツアー内容を柔軟に調整してくれ、英語もとても上手でした。おすすめのツアーです！

This tour was amazing. Our guide, Mami, was the best and had tons of information to share.
She met us at our hotel and guided us through the auction explaining everything and then
through the market. Such a wonderful time. Definitely recommend.
