What Is an Early Morning Tokyo Fish Market Private Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Toyosu and Tsukiji

The guests were a group visiting from North America. This time they stayed only in Tokyo. It was already their third day and they had no jet lag, but as it was very early in the morning, they understandably looked a bit sleepy.

At Toyosu Market this morning, the sight of the many tuna, both fresh and frozen, being put up for auction was truly spectacular. Although the sky was cloudy, the guests still enjoyed the view from the front car of the Yurikamome line. Since they also wanted to have a meal, we did not get off at Odaiba and instead headed straight to Shiodome.

At the Tsukiji Outer Market, we were able to enjoy a relaxed breakfast within the guided time. They ordered a tuna-focused set and an assorted nigiri set, and added a few more individual items. They said they were very satisfied.

The tour bus parking lot had not yet opened, so the market was not too crowded and was easy to walk around, while still having a lively atmosphere — just the right level of bustle.
