Title: What's a First-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, the Imperial Palace, Shibuya, and Meiji Shrine

The guests were a group visiting from Europe. They told me they had decided on their trip to Japan by a family vote, and this tour was the first day of a five-day stay in Tokyo after traveling to Hiroshima and Kyoto.

First, I guided them to the Tsukiji Outer Market, where they enjoyed the unique atmosphere and fresh seafood.

Next, we headed to Nijubashi Bridge in front of the Imperial Palace, where by chance we happened upon the Emperor's motorcade passing by just after the opening day of the Diet, allowing the guests to enjoy a truly rare sight. I also explained the differences between the Japanese Imperial Family and European royal families, though I wonder how accurately it was understood.

We then went to the Shibuya Crossing, which they had requested. They were amazed by the huge crowds despite it being a weekday, enjoying a moment that could not be experienced in their home country, and they mentioned they would also ride go-karts the next day. At Meiji Shrine, our visit coincided with the Shichi-Go-San season, and they were deeply moved by this unusual Japanese custom and atmosphere, taking many photographs. Afterward, they wished to explore Harajuku on their own, so we ended the tour at this point.

A notable stop on the tour was Meiji Shrine. Meiji Shrine is a Shinto shrine in the heart of Tokyo dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, and it is surrounded by a vast forest of over 100,000 trees donated from across Japan. It is one of the most visited shrines in the country, especially during New Year celebrations and seasonal events such as Shichi-Go-San, when families bring children dressed in traditional clothing to pray for their healthy growth. The peaceful wooded grounds offer a striking contrast to the bustling districts of Harajuku and Shibuya nearby.

Hello and welcome to Tokyo!

I have been working for business with American companies for many years. I have many experiences guiding customers from around the world in Japan and taking Japanese customers to the USA and Europe.

I now have a national license as a guiding interpreter, and I want to introduce the unique gigantic city of Tokyo and the traditional Japanese culture, which is not shown in the guidebooks, to people worldwide who are interested in it. In addition, I want to introduce various Japanese foods you can enjoy only in Japan.
Unique experiences such as the Sumo Training Viewing and Tea Ceremony are optionally available.
Depending on your preference and itinerary, I can guide you in Tokyo, Kamakura, and Hakone so that you can enjoy your time in Japan.
