What Is a Private Yanaka and Akihabara Walking Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were visiting Japan from North America. They had arrived only the day before and mentioned that they had felt a little nervous the previous night. The tour was originally scheduled to start at 15:00, but since Nezu Shrine closes at 17:00, we decided to begin 30 minutes earlier. As they wanted to visit somewhere that was not too touristic, I recommended Yanaka. They were very interested in the cemetery and asked many questions. It happened to be the Ohigan period, so they enjoyed watching people cleaning graves and paying their respects. They were also very knowledgeable about history and looked with great interest at the grave of Yoshinobu. They enjoyed drinking Yanaka craft beer around Ueno Sakuragi and were delighted by the beauty of Nezu Shrine. In Akihabara, they enjoyed games, had conveyor-belt sushi, and then returned to their hotel, where we parted ways. They had said they felt nervous about the differences in culture and language the day before, but they seemed to feel much better. They mentioned that they would be visiting Nagasaki and Hiroshima next.
