What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Takeshita Street, Shibuya, and the East Gardens

The guests were visiting from North America. From our email exchanges, I felt that the guests had prepared thoroughly in advance.

Unfortunately the weather was poor on the day of the tour, but we were able to visit Meiji Shrine, Takeshita Street, Shibuya, and the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. Along the way, I also helped with purchasing Shinkansen tickets in Shibuya. The guests seemed to particularly enjoy the Ninomaru Garden in the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace and took many photos there.

Originally the tour was scheduled to end at the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, but since I was concerned about the return route, I saw the guests all the way to their Hotel before ending the tour. I was glad that the guests seemed very pleased with the experience.

I’m Yoko Kusumoto, a government lisenced English-speaking guide.
I have been living in Tokyo for more than 20 years, and it’s my pleasure to show you around Tokyo. I recommend Meiji Shrine and Asakusa if you are first time in Japan. I also recommend off-the-beaton path spots like Fukagawa Fudodo and Gotokuji Temple(lucky cat temple).
I was born and brought up in Kamakura, where the first shogun’s government was established. It will be my pleasure to introduce you my hometown as well.

I live with my husband and one teenage son.
I like traveling, flowers, sewing, quilting, scrapbooking, and exploring Tokyo.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon.
