What's a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Shinjuku, and Yanaka

The guests were visitors from Europe. After spending a few days in Asia, they were now in Tokyo and planned to spend about two weeks traveling to Hiroshima and Kyoto.

At the guests' request, the tour was arranged so that the destinations would not overlap with another tour they had scheduled for the following day.

We started at the Tsukiji Outer Market. The guests mentioned that they love visiting fish markets and always make a point of seeing them when traveling around the world. Even so, they seemed amazed by the scale of the Tsukiji market, the number of people, and the deliciousness of the sushi, and they ended up eating at various spots throughout.

In Shinjuku, we began at the observation deck of the Metropolitan Government Building, then went on to see the "3D cat" advertisement, the Godzilla Head, and Golden Gai, visiting the various places they had researched in advance, which they greatly enjoyed. They also seemed to fully savor the local Japanese atmosphere at Nezu Shrine and Yanaka Ginza.

A notable stop on the tour was Nezu Shrine. Nezu Shrine is one of Tokyo's oldest shrines, said to have been founded over 1,900 years ago. It is especially famous for its vermilion torii gates that form a tunnel-like path along the hillside, as well as its beautiful azalea garden, which draws many visitors in spring. The shrine's main buildings are designated as Important Cultural Properties and reflect the architectural style of the Edo period, offering a peaceful and historic contrast to the busy city nearby.

Hello and welcome to Tokyo!

I have been working for business with American companies for many years. I have many experiences guiding customers from around the world in Japan and taking Japanese customers to the USA and Europe.

I now have a national license as a guiding interpreter, and I want to introduce the unique gigantic city of Tokyo and the traditional Japanese culture, which is not shown in the guidebooks, to people worldwide who are interested in it. In addition, I want to introduce various Japanese foods you can enjoy only in Japan.
Unique experiences such as the Sumo Training Viewing and Tea Ceremony are optionally available.
Depending on your preference and itinerary, I can guide you in Tokyo, Kamakura, and Hakone so that you can enjoy your time in Japan.
