The guests were friends visiting from Oceania. They had arrived in Tokyo the day before and explored on their own, but got lost several times along the way. Since they had not been able to sightsee as much as they had hoped on their own, they wanted to see a lot today. At the lively streets of Asakusa, they got excited and said, "We'll come back on our own tomorrow! Today is just scouting!" We saw many things, so it took more time than expected. The walk to Meiji Shrine made for a nice break. They were amazed by the size of the forest at Meiji Shrine as well. They purchased many amulets as souvenirs, and they also enjoyed the waka poetry omikuji fortunes. On Takeshita Street, they bought many items, saying they were "souvenirs for the grandchildren." At the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, they enjoyed filming videos. To return toward Toyocho, I saw them off to Kudanshita, where the tour concluded.
A notable stop on the tour was Meiji Shrine. Meiji Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Shibuya, Tokyo, dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. Completed in 1920, the shrine is surrounded by a vast forest of over 100,000 trees donated from across Japan, creating a peaceful natural sanctuary in the heart of the city. Visitors can experience traditional Shinto customs such as writing wishes on wooden ema plaques and drawing omikuji fortunes, and the shrine remains one of the most visited in all of Japan, especially during the New Year period.

Masa was amazing and was on time at our hotel and showed us how to use the underground trains and then took us to Meiji Jingu Shrine, Imperial Palace/East Garden, Asakusa, Tsukiji outer market, Tokyo Tower, Harajuku, and Shibuya. Masa was very informative about each stop and took lots of pictures for us. It was a big day but Masa was understanding that two 70 year old ladies needed to rest now and the.

Awesome Tokyo tour with Masa
My inclination is that: we can just figure this out on my own; we don’t need a guide. But my wife wanted to get one, and it worked out so well. Masa was so friendly and knowledgeable and attuned to our 16 year old son. We learned so much and had a much more rich experience than just “winging it”. Highly recommended!
