What's a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Covering Meiji Shrine, Asakusa, and Rikugien Garden
The guests were a group visiting from North America, having arrived in Japan the day before. After Tokyo, they planned to travel to another country in Asia for a while, and then visit Kyoto, Osaka, and other destinations. Their overall trip lasted a little over two weeks, and it was everyone's first visit to Japan.
I guided them to Meiji Shrine, the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, Asakusa, and Rikugien Garden. They listened attentively to my explanations and enjoyed each of the places. Since they wished to have ramen for lunch, we went to a ramen restaurant in Otemachi, and they told me it was delicious. Because we visited four locations that were somewhat far apart and involved a relatively long amount of walking, the tour ended about 15 minutes over the scheduled time. As one of the guests was interested in anime and wanted to visit Akihabara, at the end I explained at JR Komagome Station how to get to Akihabara and how to return to the hotel, and then we parted ways.

This tour was beyond expectations! Haru, my tour guide, was knowledgeable, kind and friendly. I feel like I learned so much from him throughout the day! I loved that I was able to choose from so many different sightseeing options. I simply gave Haru my list of preferred places and he did the rest!
