The itinerary covered Hotel Ginza at 10:00, exploring Ginza briefly at 10:40, Intel Forum Bldg. at 11:00, Tokyo Station at 11:40, Imperial Palace at 12:10, Omohara at 14:35, Meiji Shrine at 15:30 and Omote Sando Station at 16:00.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Otemachi (Tokyo) to Omote Sando by subway (180JPY); Meiji-jingumae to Omote Sando by subway (180JPY). Across 2 sections the fare came to 360JPY per person.

1. The group spent several weeks in Europe. They mentioned that Japan has olives too. (Imperial Palace) They saw a 3,000-year-old olive tree in Europe that was still fruiting. 2. (Imperial Palace) (Stone walls) They noted that in Europe too, curbs are made by hand. 3. (Imperial Palace) One of the guests remarked that you don't have to pay here, which is good, whereas in Europe you pay at certain places. 4. Temperatures soar up to 38 degrees in parts of Europe. 5. It's mandatory to wear a helmet. They jokingly said they call those who don't wear a helmet "temporary residents." 6. One of the guests mentioned they don't need an iPhone where they live and prefer another brand. (Omotesando) 7. So, this is man-made. (Meiji Shrine) 8. One of the guests said cooking dinner is mostly handled at home, and wondered whether Japanese people learned to use a vacuum cleaner during the COVID-19 period.

Unforgettable day in Tokyo with Hideaki — incredible with kids
Hideaki was the highlight of our time in Tokyo. We were a group of six — two grandparents and two young kids — and he handled every dynamic with ease. Patient, warm, and endlessly accommodating, he read the energy of the group and adjusted the pace so no one ever felt rushed or left behind. He was especially wonderful with our kids, keeping them engaged and curious all day — from the grandeur of the Imperial Palace, to shopping, to the wonderful craziness of Shinjuku. As a licensed guide his knowledge was deep, but what set him apart was how genuinely kind and thoughtful he was with our whole family. Hideaki’s perfect first day in Tokyo!
Hideaki was an incredible guide and my family had the most wonderful first day in Tokyo with him showing us the sights! We covered so much ground, learned a ton about the city and its history and truly got acclimated to Japan!
We clocked over 20k steps by end of day and hit at least 4 different areas of the city. Plus the lunch spot Hideaki took us was delicious! A perfect start to our trip and forever grateful to Hideaki for the fantastic memories!
