What's a Full-Day Private Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Ueno, and Ameyoko
I guided the group from North America on their second day in Japan. The day before, they had ridden a hop-on-hop-off bus on their own. They planned to visit Mount Fuji the next day and to join a cruise tour starting the day after. Since one of the guests loved sushi, we went to a sushi restaurant in Tsukiji, and they were very satisfied. One of the guests liked cats and bought cat-themed goods in Tsukiji and Yanaka. They listened attentively to stories such as the account of the Shogitai at Ueno. Ameyoko Market, which had not been on the itinerary, caught their eye, and since they wanted to go, we decided to visit Ameyoko instead of Nezu Shrine. At an electronics store, one of the guests bought an electric tooth cleaner they had forgotten to bring, and another bought face masks as souvenirs. They enjoyed soft-serve ice cream at a tea shop in Ameyoko. I saw them back to their hotel, and since they also seemed to enjoy meat dishes, I recommended a shabu-shabu restaurant near the hotel before ending the tour.

Our wonderful guide, Takako, took us on a tour of Tokyo. She helped us create a plan based on our interests and was flexible when we needed to change the itinerary a bit due to extreme heat. She was friendly, informative, and helpful. We enjoyed learning about Japanese culture and history from Takako, and we saw amazing temples and ate delicious sushi. I highly recommend this tour and Takako as a guide!

We had an amazing day with Takako. Takako got in contact prior to our tour to create the perfect itinerary. She collected us from our hotel and helped us get our travel cards and showed us how to use the public transport. Takako altered our tour and took us to Harajuku Takeshite street, which our teenagers really enjoyed. Takako was really informative and friendly and made the day really enjoyable. We would have no hesitation in booking her again. Takako showed us more in 6 hours than we would have seen in a week if left to our own devices. Thanks Takako and we will watch The Transporter!
