Title: What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Tsukiji, Meiji Shrine, and Harajuku

Body: The guests were visitors from North America. One of the guests had practiced judo for 13 years, and their bow was deep, polite, and well-practiced, though they mentioned they were not good at sitting in the seiza position. At Tsukiji, one of the guests bought sake cups and sake measuring boxes for a friend who enjoys Japanese sake.

For lunch at Tsukiji, one of the guests had udon with soft-set egg, another had udon with pork trotters, and I had kitsune udon.

Since we finished visiting Asakusa, Tsukiji, Hamarikyu, and Meiji Shrine earlier than scheduled, I guided the group through the Harry Potter shop in Harajuku, the Oriental Bazaar, and Cat Street, all the way to Shibuya.

On the rooftop garden of Harakado, one of the guests asked, "Do you come to this area often?" I replied, "This is a town for young people." They joked, "You should have dyed your hair." I answered, "I don't have enough hair left to dye."

As we took the elevator down, some elderly ladies got on. I said quietly, "It's not only young people here after all." The guests laughed.

One of the guests took a liking to Kiddy Land and chose a mascot to attach to a bag. Apparently "KAWAII" has now become an English word.

At the end of the tour, as we said goodbye, one of the guests asked, "I'd like to post that this was a wonderful tour — how should I do that?"

I have been working as a tour guide once a week since the autumein 2024. I got 5 star ratings from 32 individuals or groups succesively.
Previously, I have been working with grain business for 43 years. I was sent to a subsidiary office in New Orleans for three years.
I love Japanese history, culture and nature and want as many viaitors as possible to know the good and beautiful things about Japan. There’s a Zen teaching that I hold dear. That is ‘Ichi-go ichie’, which means ’Treasure every encounter as it may not come again’. Looking forward to see you!
