What Is a Private Tokyo Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Shinjuku Gyoen and Cherry Blossoms

The guests arrived in Japan from Asia, visiting during a holiday trip. Tomorrow they plan to drive a rental car to the Fuji Five Lakes and Oshino Hakkai. The day after, they will move on to Kyoto, and later head to Osaka. The cherry blossoms at Shinjuku Gyoen were only about thirty percent in bloom, but they enjoyed the many different flowers in the Japanese garden. When one of the guests' names was written in kanji, it carried a meaning related to "many flowers," and explaining the meaning in English brought a very happy expression. Right after the tour began, one of the guests said their energy was at "50%" due to jet lag, but after a coffee break at Shinjuku Gyoen, they said they had recovered to "100%" (their own words), responding to my puns with an easy smile and clearly enjoying the tour from the heart. Throughout the day, the guests were very attentive and caring toward one another, and it was memorable how warm and close the group was.
