What Does a Private Tokyo Day Tour Include? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Akihabara, Harajuku, and Shibuya

I guided a relaxed group visiting from Europe. They had arrived the previous day and were a little tired, so I checked in with them along the way, but they were fine and we completed the entire planned itinerary. Everywhere was extremely crowded, and Takeshita Street in particular was at a dangerous level of congestion. On Nakamise Street they bought ningyo-yaki, and at Senso-ji Temple they received a good-luck charm and drew an omikuji fortune. Since one of the guests was hesitant about the omikuji, I recommended the one at Meiji Shrine instead, which they enjoyed. As the group liked computer games, they played the crane games and a guitar arcade game in Akihabara. For lunch they chose ramen and happily enjoyed tonkotsu ramen. We stopped by the 2013 Platform at Manseibashi, where they could see the trains running up close and I introduced old photos of the former station; one of the guests turned out to be somewhat fond of trains, so it was perfect timing. In Shibuya, I took them to the Nintendo shop.
