- 09:05 Walk to the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace
- 09:15～10:15 @East Gardens of the Imperial Palace
- 10:30 Take the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line via Nihonbashi to Asakusa
- 11:00 @Asakusa (Nakamise)
- 11:30 Lunch @Tsurujiro (monjayaki)
- 12:40 @Asakusa (Sensoji Temple, Asakusa Shrine, Rokku)
- 14:00 Take the Ginza Line to Shibuya
- 14:30 @Shibuya (Hachiko Statue, Scramble Crossing, Center Gai)
- 15:00 Disperse @Shibuya Station ticket gate
What's a Private Tokyo Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on the East Gardens and Asakusa
The guests were visitors from North America. Although this was a last-minute booking made just two days before the tour, we were able to exchange emails the day before, so on the day itself we met and set off smoothly. Since some of the guests had a connection to a location in the Tohoku region, I first helped them issue their Tohoku Shinkansen tickets for the following day at Tokyo Station, for which they were very grateful.
The guests were also very interested in history and culture, and listened attentively to my explanations both at the East Gardens and in Asakusa.
At Nakamise, I bought them some kibi dango and rice crackers, and gave them a pair of chopsticks as a souvenir, which they were also very pleased with.
They kindly wrote a wonderful review, and overall I believe they were very satisfied with the tour.

We had a great time. Our guide Meiji “May” made our day memorable. Excellent sites and great food, May is very knowledgeable of the sites, has very good English and had very nice details during the tour. Ahh and he has all the nice spots for pictures identified. The restaurant he took us for lunch was excellent, we tried an amazing hoto udon.

We had an incredible time exploring Tokyo with our guide, May! He was friendly, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable, making every stop interesting with fascinating stories and local insights. His enthusiasm for Tokyo was contagious, and he really helped us curate this tour to fit our interests and make it our own.
The tour was well organized and included a great mix of iconic sights and hidden gems that we never would have discovered on our own. May also shared excellent recommendations for restaurants, shopping, and things to do after the tour, which made the rest of our stay even better. He even remembered that we were celebrating our honeymoon and helped us celebrate in a very memorable way, making the tour that much more special.
