What Is a Private Tokyo Tour Including Asakusa, Takeshita Street, and Shibuya Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

Because the guests' flight into Japan was delayed, there were several irregularities, such as changing the tour start time and being asked to call a restaurant where the guests had a reservation, but I was glad the tour day itself went smoothly.

The group consisted of guests who were visitors from North America, with one being quite familiar with Japan while the other was visiting Japan for the first time.

One of the guests was looking for a yukata, so I introduced a kimono shop in Asakusa, where they were able to purchase a yukata and an obi and were delighted, which made me happy. They were also looking for a sukajan jacket and had trouble finding one they liked, but in the end they found a favorite on Takeshita Street and purchased that as well. Another of the guests was interested in fashion, and I was struck by how absorbed they were while browsing on Takeshita Street and at Shibuya 109.

I had prepared several dining options in advance, but in the end the guests managed at their own discretion, participating after a late breakfast and having some dessert along the way on Takeshita Street, which put me at ease.

Hello, my name is Yui, and I am a licensed tour guide interpreter.

I mainly guide visitors in and around Tokyo, where you can experience both the excitement of modern city life and the charm of traditional culture. Japan is a country where history and the present exist side by side, and this unique balance makes every visit full of discoveries. I believe there is always something that will capture your heart, whether it is food, fashion, history, or daily life in Tokyo.

Since I also work as a Japanese language teacher, I can help you learn a few simple phrases during the tour if you are interested. Using Japanese to greet or chat with locals will surely make your trip even more enjoyable and memorable.

I hope you will take home wonderful memories, and I sincerely wish you enjoy your stay in Japan.
