Tour Itinerary in Detail
The tour started at 8:00 at @ Hotel and ended at 14:00. The day ran to 6 hours from start to finish.
Over the course of the day the route took in Meiji Shrine at 8:30, Asakusa at 10:20, Tsukiji at 11:50 and Ginza at 13:40.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Tochomae to Yoyogi by subway (180JPY); Yoyogi to Harajuku by train (150JPY); Meiji-jingumae to Asakusa by subway (260JPY); Asakusa to Tsukiji by subway (210JPY); Tsukiji to Ginza by subway (180JPY). The guests were visitors from North America. One of them enjoyed photography and took pictures with both a camera and a smartphone. Since we visited Meiji Shrine early in the morning, it was quiet and pleasant.
Afterward, at Asakusa, they were surprised by the size of the crowds, but they happily enjoyed some ningyo-yaki (small sponge cakes).
The food walk at Tsukiji seemed to be the highlight of the day, and they were delighted to savor yakitori, tamagoyaki (rolled omelet), and wagyu beef.
I introduced them to Ginza Mitsukoshi, Uniqlo, Ginza Six, and Kyukyodo, among other spots, before we said goodbye. It seemed they enjoyed themselves very much.

Tour of Tokyo- family with older teens
My family had an excellent tour around Tokyo with Rumi as two adults and two older teenagers. Rumi met us at our hotel and dropped us back there afterwards, which was really helpful as we were struggling with Shinjuku station. She was knowledgeable in the fish market and suggested food we might want to try from the best stalls. She showed us a great place for lunch where the kids enjoyed katsu curry. Rumi was very kind at the temple, showing us how to test our luck and providing offerings as well as walking us around the streets to buy souvenirs. She also helped with printing train tickets, checked up on us after an earthquake and sent through photos she had taken, none of which she had to do- she really went above and beyond expectations and made our first day in Japan a day to remember.
