What Is a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like in Summer? A Licensed Guide's Report on Shibuya, Tsukiji, and Akihabara

The guests arrived in Japan the previous day on a direct flight. On their first day they visited Tokyo DisneySea and were reportedly overwhelmed by the crowds, even on a weekday. They had no jet lag and slept soundly the night before, so they joined today's tour in perfect condition. Tokyo experienced its first extremely hot day of the year. We walked in the shade as much as possible and bought drinks from vending machines several times using a SUICA card to help prevent heatstroke. The purchase counter at the Pokémon Center in Shibuya had a very long line and took a lot of time, so it seemed we would not make the last-order time for a sushi lunch in Tsukiji. We therefore changed the final destination to Akihabara on short notice. Despite the unusual heat, the guests remained energetic and finished the tour well, which was a relief.
