What Is a Private Full-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine and Harajuku

The guests were a group visiting Japan. We started at 8:00 in the morning and visited three places, but since they requested that the final destination be Meiji Shrine, we considered lunch options in Harajuku. As one of the guests preferred a meat-free meal, I took them to a ramen shop that offered a vegan menu. It was the day after their arrival, so I was a little concerned about jet lag and the fairly high temperature, but they walked around very well. Since there is no public transportation like trains where they live in North America, they were delighted to travel by train and bus. Understandably, by the time we finished after 2:00 in the afternoon, one of the guests mentioned feeling tired and wanting to head back to the hotel.

Hello future guests, my name is Emi and I’m excited to show you my wonderful country, Japan.
When I visit a foreign country, I am impressed by its culture, history and lively people living there. I believe that best parts of traveling abroad maybe the contact with the local people. I’d love to guide you around Tokyo as a representative of the local people.
I would like to show you such Japan from a traveler’s point of view. Because what is ordinary to me, but sometimes unique to you. I’m sure that Japanese people is mysterious to you! Being local, I’d like to show you how Japanese people think, what kind of food they eat, and what makes them happy through their ordinary life in Japan.
I was born and raised in Osaka, next to Kyoto. I have lived in Tokyo and Yokohama for over 40 years.
I highly recommend staying both places since it must be wonderful experience to see the differences in food and especially the people. There is a big difference between western Japan, where Osaka and Kyoto located, and eastern Japan, where Tokyo is located, both in culture even in language. I hope you have a wonderful time in Japan.
