What's a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Yanaka, Nezu Shrine, Meiji Shrine, and Takeshita Street
The guests were a group of five friends visiting from Oceania. One of them was not feeling well in the morning and joined the group at lunch near Meiji Shrine. They had arrived in Japan about a week earlier, having toured places such as Hakone and Lake Kawaguchi, and had already spent several days in Tokyo. Today was their final day in Tokyo, and they planned to head to Kyoto and Osaka the next day, with an overall stay in Japan of about two weeks.
I guided them through Asakusa, Yanaka, Nezu Shrine, Meiji Shrine, and Takeshita Street. Since they were interested in Japanese history and culture, the itinerary featured many traditional sites. For lunch, we went to Forest Terrace Meiji Jingu, which offered a variety of options to suit different dietary needs. After seeing Takeshita Street in Harajuku, our tour time came to an end, and since they wished to explore places of interest on their own afterward, we parted ways in Harajuku.

Haru (Haruhiko Yokota) was a consummate professional from the first comment he made contact with us. He asked for our visit priorities and designed an interesting and engaging tour over the several hours we spent together. This tour was beyond expectations! Haru, my tour guide, was knowledgeable, kind and friendly. I feel like I learned so much from him throughout the day! I loved that I was able to choose from so many different sightseeing options. I simply gave Haru my list of preferred places and he did the rest!
