What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tour of Tokyo's Main Sights? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guest arrived in Japan a day early ahead of a conference starting the next day and wished to visit the main sights in the city, so I guided them to four classic spots. It was raining quite heavily when I left home, but fortunately the weather turned to intermittent rain, and we were able to cover the planned course without any major problems. The guest had almost no prior knowledge of Japan, so I explained basic topics in an easy-to-understand way, and they listened attentively and commented that they had learned a great deal. For lunch, the guest wanted something Japanese but did not have anything specific in mind, so I took them to a restaurant with a wide range of options. The tour ended by seeing the guest off at the hotel, but since they were going to travel to Chiba afterward, I guided them to the ticket gates at Tokyo Station and said goodbye. There seemed to be various surprises during the tour as well, and at the end the guest commented that they had come to like Japan very much and would definitely love to visit again.

Hi, I am Nobu, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter (English).
I have been an English guide in Tokyo area since January 2017.
Tokyo is a wonderful city, and you may enjoy this city by yourselves.
Even so, I recommend you go around with a guide, especially if it is your first time visit to Tokyo.
A good guide will help you to understand about Tokyo and Japan as well as how to use convenient but complicated public transportations more effectively.
I am glad if I can help you to make your tour more enjoyable.
I am looking forward to meeting you in Tokyo soon!
