Tour Itinerary in Detail
The tour started at 9:00 at hotel and ended at 15:30. The day ran to 6 hours and 30 minutes from start to finish.
Over the course of the day the route took in Tsukiji Outer Market at 9:30, Namiyoke Shrine & Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple at 10:20, Shibuya walk at 11:20, Meiji Shrine at 12:00, Shinjuku walk at 13:20, Imperial Palace & Nijubashi Bridge at 14:00 and Tokyo Station & Akihabara at 14:50.
What's a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Meiji Shrine, and Akihabara
The guests were visitors from North America who had arrived in Japan the previous night. Since they had suggested their desired destinations in advance, the tour began at the Tsukiji Outer Market based on those requests. As they were very fond of sushi, they enjoyed eating standing up within the market, and because they were also interested in Japanese culture, they asked many questions about delicious sake and beer.
At Namiyoke Shrine and Higashi Honganji Temple, I explained the differences between Shinto and Buddhism while observing the sites, and they became interested in Shinto, which they were learning about for the first time, and asked many questions.
At Meiji Shrine, they came across a traditional Shinto wedding ceremony and enjoyed experiencing ancient Japanese culture.
At the Imperial Palace, I explained the differences between the Japanese Imperial family and the British Royal family, and they seemed surprised by what they were learning for the first time.
Afterward, we headed to Tokyo Station, which had been listed as a desired destination, where I gave explanations about its history and appearance, and then we proceeded to Akihabara, the final requested destination, where the tour concluded.

Highly recommend this tour for first time visit to Tokyo. Our guide Atsushi took great care to acclimate us with navigating through busy train stations efficiently with a group of eight family members. Along the way and at each site he explained various cultural practices and associated histories that made the tour very immersive and enjoyable. Best Tour for a Short Visit
Atsushi-san was an incredibly well-researched and friendly tour guide. His knowledge allowed us to explore and get to the historical significance of the various locations we visited. His explanations were simple but comprehensive. The six hours flew by and included some off-the-beaten opportunities including coffee at a very austere but memorable location near the fish market. I would highly recommend him as well as this tour for anyone with limited time in Tokyo wanting see as much as possible

Our guide, Atsushi, was great! He met us at our hotel in Hakone and took us clockwise to tour all the sites. He was informative and taught us a lot. Our group was two adults and a 14 year old. We saw Mt Fuji from the rope way, but unfortunately the pirate ship was canceled because of high wind. We would absolutely use Atsushi again for this tour, or any other tour he provides.
