Title: What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guest was a visitor from Asia, in Japan for a short trip and using a free day before other commitments to sightsee in Tokyo. It was their second time in Japan, but as the previous visit had not included sightseeing, this was their first chance to see the sights. Unfortunately the weather was poor. There was light rain on the way to the Imperial Palace, but at Koishikawa Korakuen Garden the rain grew heavier, so once we returned to Korakuen Station we took an unplanned lunch break and spent some time hoping the wind and rain would pass. During the meal we were able to enjoy talking about many different topics. The meal was a Western-style dish the guest chose themselves, a bowl of clam chowder with bread, and since they had gotten cold outside, they seemed relieved to have something warm to eat. Afterward, as the rain had nearly stopped, we were able to continue as planned to Yanaka and Nezu, and then Asakusa. In Asakusa the Sanja Festival was in full swing, so the portable shrine usually displayed at the station could not be seen, but as we left the Nitenmon Gate of Sensoji Temple and walked toward Sumida Park, a procession of mikoshi happened to pass right in front of us, and we were able to enjoy the festive atmosphere with the music and the portable shrine right before our eyes. The guest took many photos and videos.
