What's a Private Day Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Shibuya, Harajuku, and Shinjuku

The guests were visitors from North America. There were often moments when they were absorbed in catching up with each other and using social media rather than following my guidance, but since they wanted to make the most of their short stay, I did my best to help them see as much as possible. In Asakusa, they tried local foods, and after visiting the temple, they purchased amulets and drew omikuji fortunes. In Shibuya, they actually walked across the scramble crossing, then enjoyed sharing a variety of foods at Shibuya Yokocho inside Miyashita Park. In Harajuku, after visiting Meiji Shrine, they enjoyed browsing cosmetics shops and strolling along Takeshita Street. After that, we moved to Shinjuku by bus and viewed the 3D cat. I had planned to guide them through the underground passage toward the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and part ways there, but as they said they were fully satisfied, I guided them to the subway station and we parted ways. Their stay in Tokyo was only two days, but I hope they were able to make their short stay a fulfilling one.

Hello, I’m Miho Ozawa, and I’ve been working as a government licenced guide interpreter for six years in Tokyo. I live in east Tokyo with my family, including my three children, and I love art, gardens, photography and traveling.
It’s such a pleasure to explore this fascinating city Tokyo with you. There are so many things you can do, although sometimes it’s hard to choose what to do within a limited time. I would really appreciate if you could let me know what you would like to do or where you would like to visit in Tokyo. I would be happy to help you plan to make your trip a memorable one. I’m forward to hearing from you and meeting you soon!
