From there the group visited Sensoji Temple at 9:10, Akihabara, lunch at Hanamaru Udon at 9:50 and Ikebukuro, matcha cafe at 12:20.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Kyobashi to Asakusa by subway (209JPY); Asakusa to Suehirocho by subway (178JPY); Akihabara to Ikebukuro by subway (208JPY); Ikebukuro to Tokyo by train (208JPY). Across 4 sections the fare came to 803JPY per person.

The guest requested a private tour visiting Asakusa, Akihabara, and Ikebukuro. When asked in advance whether they had any favorite anime or characters, they said they did not have anything in particular. In reality, however, the guest turned out to be a passionate fan of the original Pokémon games and still repeatedly plays Pokémon Red on a Game Boy. In Akihabara, the guest asked about a boxed Pokémon Red with a map included (21,900 yen), and I explained the meaning of the "sun-faded" labeling on the software. The guest also wanted old-back Pokémon cards, so I showed them the old-back section at a specialty Pokémon card shop. Although it did not lead to a purchase, when I mentioned that I use a Pokémon card deck case (500 yen) as a business card holder at home, the guest was delighted and said that was a great way to use it. For lunch we had Hanamaru Udon, and the guest seemed to enjoy being able to choose their own toppings. (Fortunately, there were no other customers behind us, so they could take their time selecting.) In Ikebukuro, the guest was amazed at the scale of Tokyo from the observation deck at Sunshine, saw the Pokémon Center, and enjoyed a matcha milk drink at a matcha café.

Since I was a child, my parents welcomed many international students into our home and I had many opportunities to interact with them. My mother is a translator, and I have always seen her guiding foreigners around Japan, so it was natural for me to start doing the same.
I am good at guiding people to popular places such as Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku, and Asakusa, as well as photogenic spots in the Tokyo metropolitan area. Since I was a child, I’ve watched anime like Pokémon and played Nintendo games, and I still buy around 100 manga comic books a month. I love shopping in Akihabara! I currently live in Urayasu City, Chiba, so close that I can see fireworks from Disneyland from my house every night.

This tour was a wonderful experience. Sayumi-San (Sam) was an absolutely amazing tour guide. She met me at my hotel and was a complete professional from the word ‘go.’ We did a good amount of walking to the sights/sites and rode the train to some places that were farther away from each other. Sam was very knowledgeable about the history of Japan and the places we visited. She was very respectful of my interests and curated a tour that fit well with what I wanted to see. I can’t say enough wonderful things about her and the tour.
The six hour tour included lunch. I recommend bringing water, though, while walking around and bringing a hat or small umbrella because the sun can be brutal. Finally, wear comfortable shoes.
