What's a Private One-Day Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Shibuya, and Asakusa
We met at Tokyo Station, and since the guests were interested in traditional Japanese culture, we visited Meiji Shrine to pray. They seemed to enjoy the sacred atmosphere very much. From there, we walked to see Takeshita Street, then took the train to Shibuya Station, where they experienced the Shibuya Scramble Crossing. Since it appears in the movie Fast & Furious, they were very excited. In Asakusa, the guests did not seem very hungry, so they enjoyed a light bite of dango and ice cream. Although it was a short time, they told me they were able to thoroughly enjoy Tokyo.

Hi! Nice to meet you!
I’m Riko, and I would love to be your guide.
Let me tell briefly about myself.
When I was in elementary school and middle school, I used to live in the United States for four and half years. I went to typical middle school and high school in my home town Aichi, and then, I studied abroad in France for a year and happily graduated Waseda University in Tokyo.
I decided I would like to introduce more about Japan and know more about other country’s culture too, so, I became National Tour Guide in 2022 and have guided over 150 guests.
Since I am huge fan of manga and anime, I’m especially deep in knowledge about Japanese pop culture. Also, as I really love Japanese history and cuisine, I hope I can entertain you with these genres too!
With huge hospitality which I earned from working at amusement parks and restaurants, I will certainly illustrate your great memory in Japan.
Thank you for reading.

Riko was awesome and she gave us a personal tour of both fish markets. Ate food in real
time, shooped for knives and other goodies. Would definitely use her again. Very
knowledgeable and great English.

Exceeding more than all of my expectations!!!
Tripadvisor review: Tokyo 6hr Private Tour with Government-Licensed Guide
I have always loved and wanted to see Japan but had never made it out of my own country yet. So, on a 14 hour morning to night layover in Tokyo, my first trip out of the US, I signed up for this guide service.
I was simply happy to just have someone to walk with me anywhere and to talk to. However, what I got was so far beyond my expectations that anytime I go back to Japan, I will get this service anywhere it is available. I may not get the same guide but I’m sure this service puts some expectations on their guides services and if I get a guide even close to half the guide I got (Riko) I will be more than ecstatic.
Riko went soooo far above and beyond she completely made my entire short first time experience in Tokyo. She was nothing short of amazing! She was so knowledgeable, the whole trip was filled with conversation and even though I got a custom trip, when I gave her the impossible task of taking wherever she thought I would like, she nailed it. She was kind, courteous, full of friendly interaction and so respectful, the embodiment of the Japanese people.
If you have never been there, or you have but you want to try to find something you haven’t seen, this service is more than worth the price. What I got from Riko was quite honestly completely underpriced. The guide service and the Japanese government (and quite honestly the people) should be so proud of people like Riko who prove time and time again that Japan is such a beautiful country and an even more impressive and wonderful culture.
My 6-hour tour with Riko was the highlight of my entire trip. I feel like I can’t thank you enough Riko but, nevertheless, thank you SO very much! For everything!!! 😁
