Private Tokyo Walking Tour Report: A Licensed Guide's Day with Cruise Passengers Visiting Hamarikyu, Ginza, and Tsukiji
The guests were senior travelers visiting from Europe, one of whom had visited Japan long ago. They were planning to board a 12-day cruise around Japan from the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal in April. After arriving in Tokyo, they had visited the Imperial Palace with a guide the previous day and enjoyed the Inui Street cherry blossom walk under fine weather. Once today's tour began, it quickly became clear that one of the guests became short of breath and needed to walk slowly, so I proceeded with the itinerary while keeping a pace between that person and the other guest, who tended to walk faster.
Although Hamarikyu Gardens had not been part of the original plan, the guests expressed a wish to actually stroll inside it since they could see it from their hotel window, so we visited it as our first destination. The cherry trees in the blossom garden were about half in bloom, with some closer to seventy percent, and the guests were deeply impressed by their beauty and took many photos. They also looked with great interest at the basement food hall of the Ginza Mitsukoshi department store and the supermarket inside Tokyo Midtown Roppongi. For lunch, they enjoyed sushi at the Tsukiji market. One of the guests does not usually eat fish, but this time joined in and had a tuna roll. In their home country tuna and salmon are the main types of sushi, but at my recommendation one of the guests tried sea urchin for the first time and found it delicious. They also liked the gizzard shad. Only the ark shell was not to their taste and was left uneaten. On the way back, taking the Oedo Line from Roppongi allowed a smooth transfer to the hotel in Shiodome. Although the guests were tired, the tour ended safely without one of the guests needing to use the cane they had brought in their backpack.

It was a GREAT TOUR with Noripy! With a family of many different ages and walking levels this was fantastic. We were picked up from our cruise in Yokohama and dropped off at Haneda airport. We had about 10 hours before our flight and it went flawlessly.

Noripy was excellent! She guided us through several parts of the city: Imperial Palace, Tokyo Station, Tokyo Tower, Sangedatsumon, Zojo-ji, Meiji Jingu, and Golden Gai. A great way to see many Tokyo sites and get acquainted with the city on your first day!

She provided useful instruction for public transport use, fascinating historical information, spiritual customs and current cultural practices- All with an infectious smile and never ending positive energy.
