Meeting at @Edition Ginza at 9:00, the group explored Tokyo until the tour ended at 14:45. The day ran to 5 hours and 45 minutes from start to finish. It included lunch @Tsuta Ramen at 12:15.
The itinerary covered View Sakuradamon and Nijubashi from the car window at 9:15, East Gardens of the Imperial Palace at 9:20, Walk around Shinjuku at 11:15 and Walk around Shimokitazawa at 13:15.
What Is a Private Tour of Tokyo's Modern Culture Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were visiting Japan for the first time. These guests had booked multiple [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) tours through a travel agency, each guided by a different guide. We were able to cooperate by staying in contact with one another. Since my guiding day was the last, I received helpful information from the guides who had led the earlier tours, which was a great help.
This was actually my first tour that included a vehicle, and I was worried about knowing the pick-up and drop-off locations, but the driver was very kind and helpful, which made things much easier. Once we reached Shimokitazawa, the vehicle was no longer needed, and the driver kindly delivered the items the guests had purchased to the Hotel afterward.
The guests had already visited many places, and the destinations kept changing from the previous day, which was stressful, but I am grateful that the driver kindly accommodated everything. Aside from the Imperial Palace, the places we visited had not been part of the original plan, but they happened to be locations I had guided many times before, so I believe the guests were satisfied. Having seen traditional Japanese culture in Kansai, Kanazawa, and Hakone, the guests were delighted to also experience modern culture at the end. I hope this tour becomes a wonderful memory of their trip.

Tokyo Walking Tour
We did a six-hour walking tour of Tokyo with Yoko and she was an exceptional guide. We saw multiple shrines (Meiji Shrine is a must see), the Imperial Palace, the “crossing” (there is a similar intersection in the Ginza shopping district which was also cool), the Tokyo Station, and the outer market where we ordered some fatty toro nigiri which was an etherial experience. Can’t say enough good things about Yoko. She taught ys a ton about the history of Japan and had a great sense of humor. A+

Fantastic day exploring Tokyo
This was our first time visiting Tokyo and spending a day with Yoko as our guide was perhaps the best decision we could have made. Even before we arrived we traded messages with Yoko about what we might like to do. She offered valuable tips which made not only our time in Tokyo more efficient but while in Japan as a whole. We saw so many amazing things but Yoko also gave us a primer in using the Tokyo subway system and navigating some of the stations. I could go on and list all the things we did but each tour will be different. However I would highly recommend Yoko as a guide. Perhaps serendipitous, but we were stopped on the street the day after we toured with Yoko by a couple who had a list of things to do but was unsure how to go about doing the things on their list and where those things were located. I was thankful we chose the best guide so we didn’t have that problem.
