What Is a Private Walking Tour of Nezu, Yanaka, Asakusa, and Shibuya in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests requested a tour of the Nezu and Yanaka area, Asakusa, and Shibuya. Since I heard they were interested in the Hachiko statue at Shibuya Station, we first went from Todaimae Station to see the Hachiko statue at the Faculty of Agriculture before heading to Nezu Shrine. They were delighted by the happy expression on the Hachiko statue, saying it made them happy too.

As the guests enjoy learning about the everyday customs and culture of other countries, at Nezu Shrine I walked with them while explaining the shrine's history and origins, as well as the Inari shrine and the Ena-zuka mound within the grounds.

From Nezu Shrine we walked through Yanaka to Nippori Station, and then on to Asakusa. In Asakusa, we walked while I explained the relationship between Senso-ji Temple and the shrine, as well as the origins of the Nakamise shopping street. Throughout, the guests asked a variety of questions, and our conversation flowed lively.

Finally, we headed to Shibuya on the Ginza Line. On the train, we had a lively conversation about the social systems of our respective countries.

At Shibuya Station, we looked down over the Scramble Crossing, and I pointed out the location of the Hachiko statue. Lastly, I guided them to the Inari shrine in the Hyakkendana shopping district, and the tour came to an end.
