Tour Itinerary
- 10:00 Meet at Hotel Ginza Premier > Tokyo Metro Ginza Line Shimbashi Station ~ Meiji-jingumae Station (180 yen) > 10:40 Meiji Shrine > Short break at Mori no Terrace
- 11:40 Harajuku Station ~ In front of Sendagaya Station (Moved by taxi at guest's request. Since Teresa Miller had knee pain, she returned to the hotel by taxi and instructed that the tour continue with her accompanying nephew, so we guided them to Shinjuku Gyoen as planned.)
- 11:50 Cherry blossom viewing at Shinjuku Gyoen (about 1 hour) > 13:00 Lunch (Tsukiji Shokudo Gen-chan Shinjuku Gyoen branch) Grilled silver cod teriyaki 1078 yen > 13:50 Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line Shinjuku-gyoemmae ~ Ginza (180 yen) See-off in front of the hotel
Title: What Is a Private Tokyo Walking Tour Like? Meiji Shrine and Shinjuku Gyoen — A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests of [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) took things gently in the morning, using elevators at subway stations whenever possible, and we paused twice for short rests at Meiji Shrine. After finishing at Meiji Shrine, and with travel to Kyoto planned for the following day, part of the group wished to return to the hotel by car to rest. We hailed a taxi in front of the station, rode together as far as Sendagaya Station, and then some of the guests remained in the car while I got out with the rest of the group. I explained the destination to the driver and confirmed the payment method in advance. As planned, I guided the remaining guests to Shinjuku Gyoen, where they enjoyed the cherry blossoms, had lunch near Shinjuku Gyoen-mae, and I then saw them off at their hotel in Ginza. In our walking tour, we visit historic sites such as temples and beautiful Japanese gardens as well as popular shopping streets and food markets. We also explore the narrow backstreets to find little galleries, quiet cafes and cozy food stands.

We had the pleasure of having Teizo guide us on the Off The Beaten Path tour of Tokyo. First off, Teizo was very responsive in communicating with us prior to our tour and rearranged the sites so we could visit Asakusa Temple before it closed. Teizo has a wealth of information and happily answered all our questions. He made sure we were comfortable during our six hour tour. Teizo is a wonderful representative of Japan and its culture.
