The tour started at 11:00 at @ Hotel and ended at 15:00. The day ran to 4 hours from start to finish.

Travel between the sites was by public transport: Otemachi (Tokyo) to Tsukiji by subway (180JPY); Tsukiji to Asakusa by subway (210JPY); Asakusa to Ueno by subway (180JPY); Ueno to Akihabara by train (150JPY). Across 4 sections the fare came to 720JPY per person.

Body: The guests were visitors from North America. I had let them know in advance that we would have to skip Tsukiji this time, but since they said they would go there on their own later, we went just to check the location. When I asked at the information desk, they said it would be fine as long as we did not walk around while eating, so we took a quick look around and enjoyed wagyu beef and sashimi in front of the shops. Since the guests wanted to visit historical places, we then went to Asakusa and Ueno. Unfortunately, the Tokyo National Museum was closed because it was a Monday, so they plan to visit again another time. As the guests also enjoy Japanese anime, I took them to Akihabara, introduced them to the Radio Kaikan and Animate, and we said our goodbyes.

Tour of Tokyo- family with older teens
My family had an excellent tour around Tokyo with Rumi as two adults and two older teenagers. Rumi met us at our hotel and dropped us back there afterwards, which was really helpful as we were struggling with Shinjuku station. She was knowledgeable in the fish market and suggested food we might want to try from the best stalls. She showed us a great place for lunch where the kids enjoyed katsu curry. Rumi was very kind at the temple, showing us how to test our luck and providing offerings as well as walking us around the streets to buy souvenirs. She also helped with printing train tickets, checked up on us after an earthquake and sent through photos she had taken, none of which she had to do- she really went above and beyond expectations and made our first day in Japan a day to remember.
