- 10:05 Take the JR Keiyo Line to Shimbashi Station via Tokyo Station
- 10:35 Walk to Hamarikyu Gardens
- 10:45-11:30 @ Hamarikyu Gardens
- 11:50 Commemorative photo @ in front of Kabukiza Theater
- 12:10 @ Stroll along Ginza Main Street, visit the Nissan Showroom, etc.
- 12:20 Take the Ginza Line to Meiji-jingumae via Omotesando
- 12:30-13:10 @ Stroll along Takeshita Street
- 13:20-14:00 @ Visit Meiji Shrine
- 14:00 Take the Yamanote Line to Shibuya
- 14:10 @ Shibuya: Hachiko Statue, Scramble Crossing, Center Street
- 14:30 Disband @ Keika Shibuya Center Street branch
What's a Private Tokyo Cultural Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group visiting from North America. They were a very close-knit group and got along wonderfully.
The guide booking had originally been made for one person, but the night before, I received an email saying there would actually be four. The office kindly handled the change in the number of guests. (Thank you very much for the swift response!)
Since the guests were interested in traditional Japanese culture, they explored Hamarikyu Gardens, the Kabukiza Theatre building, and Meiji Shrine with great interest.
At the same time, they seemed amazed by the contrast with the crowds in areas like Ginza, Takeshita Street, and Shibuya Center Gai.
Along the way, I bought them some Yukimi Daifuku at a convenience store, which they were delighted with.
Finally, after the tour had ended, I guided them to Keika Ramen in Center Gai. When I asked for their impressions after we parted ways, they were thrilled, saying, "This ramen is perfect! So delicious!"
They told me they would like to stay in touch going forward, so I believe they were very satisfied.

We had a great time. Our guide Meiji “May” made our day memorable. Excellent sites and great food, May is very knowledgeable of the sites, has very good English and had very nice details during the tour. Ahh and he has all the nice spots for pictures identified. The restaurant he took us for lunch was excellent, we tried an amazing hoto udon.

We had an incredible time exploring Tokyo with our guide, May! He was friendly, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable, making every stop interesting with fascinating stories and local insights. His enthusiasm for Tokyo was contagious, and he really helped us curate this tour to fit our interests and make it our own.
The tour was well organized and included a great mix of iconic sights and hidden gems that we never would have discovered on our own. May also shared excellent recommendations for restaurants, shopping, and things to do after the tour, which made the rest of our stay even better. He even remembered that we were celebrating our honeymoon and helped us celebrate in a very memorable way, making the tour that much more special.
