The tour started at 13:00 at @Rits Carlton and ended at 17:00. The day ran to 4 hours from start to finish.
Over the course of the day the route took in Shinjuku at 13:30, Meiji Shrine, Omotesando at 14:30 and Shibuya at 16:00.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Roppongi to Shinjuku by subway (220JPY); Shinjuku to Harajuku by train (150JPY); Harajuku to Shibuya by train (150JPY); Shibuya to Nogizaka by subway (180JPY). Across 4 sections the fare came to 700JPY per person.
What's a Private Day Tour of Modern Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Shibuya, Meiji Shrine, and Mastering the Trains
The guests were visitors from North America. It turned out that we had once lived in the same place around the same time, so we hit it off right away as soon as we met.
Since the guests had already toured the Kansai area, I focused mainly on the modern streets of Tokyo and tried to avoid temples and shrines as much as possible. Through our prior communication, they had already downloaded the mobile Suica app, but since they had only used it for one day during their Kyoto tour, I explained things as we went sightseeing here and there so that they could get around on their own from the next day. They were surprised at how inexpensive the public transportation was. I recommended that they use it a lot during their stay in Tokyo, since it is clean and you can ride with peace of mind.
Originally I had planned to guide them to the Metropolitan Government Building, but the guests told me that the view from their hotel room was so wonderful that there might be no need to go all the way to the observation deck, so I changed our destination to the Shibuya Scramble Crossing instead. I also wondered whether Meiji Shrine would be of interest to guests coming from Kansai, so I suggested Takeshita Street, but they said they did not want to go to Takeshita Street and requested Meiji Shrine. While briefly touring the sightseeing spots on the west side of Tokyo, I had them master how to ride the trains. By using a different nearest station on the way there and back, I helped them remember where the stations were.
When I saw them off at the hotel and we said goodbye, they thanked me for giving them exactly the tour they had hoped for. I was glad to have been able to respond well to the guests' wishes.

Tokyo Walking Tour
We did a six-hour walking tour of Tokyo with Yoko and she was an exceptional guide. We saw multiple shrines (Meiji Shrine is a must see), the Imperial Palace, the “crossing” (there is a similar intersection in the Ginza shopping district which was also cool), the Tokyo Station, and the outer market where we ordered some fatty toro nigiri which was an etherial experience. Can’t say enough good things about Yoko. She taught ys a ton about the history of Japan and had a great sense of humor. A+

Fantastic day exploring Tokyo
This was our first time visiting Tokyo and spending a day with Yoko as our guide was perhaps the best decision we could have made. Even before we arrived we traded messages with Yoko about what we might like to do. She offered valuable tips which made not only our time in Tokyo more efficient but while in Japan as a whole. We saw so many amazing things but Yoko also gave us a primer in using the Tokyo subway system and navigating some of the stations. I could go on and list all the things we did but each tour will be different. However I would highly recommend Yoko as a guide. Perhaps serendipitous, but we were stopped on the street the day after we toured with Yoko by a couple who had a list of things to do but was unsure how to go about doing the things on their list and where those things were located. I was thankful we chose the best guide so we didn’t have that problem.
