Title: What Can You See at Ueno Park and Tokyo National Museum on a Private Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report

Body:

The guests were visitors from South America, and their top requested destination was the Tokyo National Museum. Since their accommodation was a hotel in Shinagawa but they wanted to make efficient use of their time, we arranged to meet near the central ticket gate of Ueno Station.

At the Tokyo National Museum, the guests also showed interest in the special exhibition "New JAPONISM," and while they viewed it, I waited near the entrance of the main building. In the end, we spent about two hours at the museum.

The guests said they wanted to leave Ueno at 14:45 to return to their hotel in Shinagawa and prepare for their trip to Kyoto, so in the remaining thirty minutes or so I guided them around the main spots in Ueno Park. Hanazono Inari Shrine was especially well received, and I felt that stopping there was the right choice.

At Ueno Station, the guests wanted to finish their shopping before departure, so we ended the tour more than an hour early. Since this tour was completed entirely within Ueno, no transportation costs were incurred along the way.

Hi. My name is Masafumi Miyazaki. Please call me “Sam”. I am a government-licensed guide.
I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.
I like reading, listening to the music, and walking. I belong to several walking clubs, and sometimes I guide the members around Tokyo.
One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. At that shop, I learned a lot of things related to kombu or other ingredients for washoku. I can explain the different characteristics of them to you.
Also, I am familiar with Japanese flowers and plants. If you stroll around a Japanese garden with me, I am sure you will be able to enjoy beautiful flowers and unique plants in every season.
I look forward to meeting you. Thank you.
