**Title:** What's a Private Family Day Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

**Body:**

[Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private one-day tour of Tokyo for a group visiting from North America. The itinerary I had proposed in advance was accepted without changes. After confirming the itinerary at our meeting point, we headed to the subway. The guests were not carrying cash, and their three credit cards did not work at the automated ticket machines (as often happens), so we withdrew cash at a nearby ATM, purchased a one-day subway pass, and started the tour. At Meiji Shrine, the guests listened attentively to my explanations and also tried the mystery quiz about the pillars of the outer worship hall. Since they had only arrived the previous night, we took a short break for a light meal at a coffee shop in Shibuya. We strolled through Tsukiji Market, and when they said they wanted to eat ramen, I guided them to a recommended shop and we parted ways there. During the tour, I was able to share a variety of information that the guests appreciated, including recommended anime spots in Akihabara and elsewhere, the Kappabashi area, a tea ceremony experience behind Asakusa (I made a phone reservation on the spot and, after the tour, shared the guests' information with the staff at the experience venue), and Nishiki Market in Kyoto.
