Tour Itinerary
- 1. 10:00 Meet @The B Ochanomizu
- 2. 11:00 Gotokuji Temple (stay approx. 50 min)
- 3. 13:00 Azumabashi ~ TIC ~ Sensoji Temple / Asakusa Shrine
- 4. 14:00 Disband at Sensoji Temple grounds (rest area in front of the restroom next to Hozomon Gate)
Can You Do a Private Day Tour of Gotokuji and Asakusa in Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests requested to visit Nezu Shrine, Gotokuji Temple, and Sensoji Temple, but given the time available and the location of the hotel, I suggested that they visit Nezu Shrine on their own, and instead spend today thoroughly touring the somewhat less accessible Gotokuji Temple and the sight-filled Asakusa area with a guide. They agreed to this plan.
They had been looking forward to their visit to Japan so much that they had prepared handmade little thank-you gifts to carry with them, in case someone showed them kindness during their trip in Japan.
In the latter part of the tour in Asakusa, there was a slight sense that they were a little tired from the crowds, but the tour proceeded in a warm and pleasant atmosphere throughout.

Our guide was highly knowledgeable about the historical significance of each location we visited. It was also a great opportunity to talk with her about daily life in Tokyo. My adult children especially enjoyed learning about what it is like for parents raising children in the city. A wonderful way to gain a local perspective and a deeper understanding of the area.

Awesome day with Kiyo !! Kiyo was in regular contact before our trip and went over and above….including a very last minute change due to a booking error I made. Kiyo gave clear travel instructions before our trip and even printed out a map for when we arrived at Kyoto after our tour. She was fun, friendly, and shared her knowledge- we were so pleased to have done this tour to learn about what we were seeing. Highly recommend Kiyo- thank you so much!
