What's a Full-Day Private Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on the Imperial Palace and Meiji Shrine

The guests were visitors from North America, on the second day of a 17-day trip to Japan. One of the group was interested in historical subjects and places such as samurai, while another was interested in social topics. Since the previous day had been a taxi-based tour, this time we experienced the subway. As the previous day's tour had focused only on crowded places, I took time to guide them through spots where they could also enjoy nature, such as the Imperial Palace and Meiji Shrine. We also had some serious conversations about religion in Japan, Japan's election system and immigration policy, and Japanese sentiment toward Americans after World War II.
