What Can You See on a First Day in Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Private Tour Report

I guided the group from North America on their first day in Japan. They mentioned that starting the next day they would be joining a group tour traveling across Japan. The weather was lovely and there were many people out, but flowers were blooming everywhere and the guests were delighted by the beautiful scenery. They especially seemed to enjoy Yanaka Cemetery in full cherry blossom, the streets of Yanaka, and Shinjuku Gyoen. In Tsukiji we stopped at a coffee shop, and since the guests wished to have Japanese food for lunch, I took them to a soba restaurant, where they were very pleased with the cozy atmosphere and the flavors. Partway through, one of the guests began to have difficulty walking due to back pain, so I suggested taking a taxi, but they said they would be fine walking slowly, and we used the subway all the way to the end.
