Tour Itinerary in Detail
This private tour of Gifu began at 9:30, when the guide met the guests at Meeting up, and finished at 15:30. The day ran to 6 hours from start to finish. It included lunch at Ochudo at 12:10.
From there the group visited Shirakawa-go Seseragi Parking Lot at 10:30, Folk Village at 10:40, Shirakawa-go Village at 11:45, Kanda House at 13:00, Observation Deck at 13:30, Seseragi Parking Lot at 14:10 and Takayama City, Hida Kokubunji Temple at 15:10.

The guests were truly friendly and easygoing. They asked many questions, and we were able to talk about a great deal. The weather and the autumn foliage were also very beautiful, and at the open-air folk house park we were able to spend a truly relaxing time. We were also able to enjoy a free tasting of doburoku, which was being offered for a limited period, and I explained the difference in taste between amazake and doburoku, as well as some general information about Japanese sake.
Although it was a busy season, the timing worked out very well, and the whole group was able to get into my favorite gassho-zukuri style café for lunch, where the guests were impressed by trying Japanese curry rice for the first time. Finally, with the time remaining, we saw the great ginkgo tree at Kokubunji Temple in Takayama before parting ways.

Our morning tour around the old centre of Takayama with Annie was excellent. She is a great guide, and whilst we had selected the places we wanted to visit, she organised the route so that we would see as much as possible in the time allowed. Very friendly and extremely informative .
