What's a Private Tour of Matsushima and Sendai in Tohoku Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guest was a cheerful and energetic visitor from North America, visiting Japan for the third time. After climbing Mount Fuji, the guest traveled from Sapporo to Sendai using a Japan Rail Pass. Although the sky was cloudy, patches of blue sky began to appear from time to time, and the guest enjoyed the sightseeing boat, Zuiganji Temple, and Entsuin Temple. The guest took many photos, especially in the garden of Entsuin Temple. Unlike Kyoto and Tokyo, Tohoku has fewer international tourists, and the guest seemed to appreciate this, mentioning a wish to visit the Sea of Japan side of Tohoku and Shikoku next time. As the guest was also a fan of local craft beer, I guided them to "Iroha Yokocho," a nightlife spot in Sendai.

My name is Sergio Kurahashi, a certified National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in English and in Italian, resided in Italy for 13 years, Singapore 9 years and travelled in 70 countries.
I was originally born in Kyoto, but now am living near Sendai in Miyagi prefecture.
I have more than 10 years experiences of tourism industry as a tour guide especially in Tohoku region, northern Honshu island or north-east of Japan.
I attended G7 meeting of Science and Technology ministers held in Sendai in 2023, and Tokyo 2020 Olympic games as a volunteer guide.
