Tour Itinerary in Detail
Meeting at guests @ Hotel at 9:30, the group explored Hokkaido until the tour ended at 15:35. The day ran to 6 hours and 5 minutes from start to finish. It included lunch @ Maruyama Class at 12:50.
The itinerary covered Former Hokkaido Government Office at 9:40, Sapporo Clock Tower at 10:30, Odori Park at 10:45, Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium at 11:30 and Hokkaido Shrine at 13:45.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Odori to Maruyama Koen by subway (210JPY); Maruyama Koen to Odori by subway (210JPY); Maruyama Koen Station by bus (240JPY); Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium by bus (240JPY). Across 4 sections the fare came to 900JPY per person.
The guests were a group visiting from South America. Since I could not speak Portuguese, I guided them in Japanese rather than English. All of them were very energetic, even choosing to climb the stairs where escalators were available. During this period, Odori Park was hosting a beer festival (the largest beer garden in Japan), so I decided to end the tour by showing them the venue. After finishing a six-hour walking tour blessed with clear skies, they surely enjoyed their beer immensely.

Super Sapporo in April with Tom.
Tom was kind enough to meet at our hotel to start the tour and then sat with us to make sure we saw the best of Sapporo that was available to us on the day. We even managed some Cherry Blossom which was an unexpected bonus.
Tom ensured we got to Sapporos highest view away from any crowds and navigated our route brilliantly. He left us at the Sapporo Brewery for us to drink and eat in our own time. We wish Tom sincere thanks for a great day in Sapporo.

We had a wonderful city tour with Tom in Sapporo! He was very knowledgeable about Hokkaido’s history and culture and had a lot of great stories to share. He was extremely friendly and patient as well. Highly recommend booking a tour with Tom if you want to see Sapporo’s highlights in a day! He also does tours further out of Sapporo city center.
