What Is a Winter Evening Private Walking Tour of Central Sapporo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

Initially, I proposed an itinerary for this tour that included the Sapporo Clock Tower, the former Hokkaido Government Office, the Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium, and the Shiroi Koibito Park. After meeting the guests and discussing the plan, they said that due to the cold, the slippery road surfaces, and the fact that it was after sunset, they preferred to spend their time in the city center, so I changed the plan to a walk around central Sapporo.

After sunset, the main streets in the city were illuminated with lights, and the guests spent the entire time taking photos while exclaiming with delight. As the guide, I also helped with taking their photos. In addition, I showed them how to get to the bus stop for Asahikawa, their next day's destination, at the north exit of JR Sapporo Station.

Hello! Welcome to Otaru, Hokkaido, Japan. My name is Katsuko Kemanai, a female guide. I would be happy to serve you as a local tourist guide.
I live in Sapporo, Hokkaido, the northernmost island of Japan. I know you are a guest of a luxurious ocean liner. You will visit Otaru on April 21. Otaru is a port city, known for its tasty seafood. The city was once an economic hub of Hokkaido. You will see the former canal, Sakaimachi Street, where a lot of sushi bars, glass-blowing studios, museums, and gift shops. While in the suburbs, Mt. Tengu or Shukutsu Peninsular, where you will have a panoramic view including an ocean view. Please entertain yourself on the luxurious passenger boat. These spots will certainly entertain you. I look forward to seeing you.
Sincerely yours,
Guide Katsuko Kemanai
