Tour Itinerary
- 1. 13:00 – Meet the guest at Hotel Sosei Sapporo
- 2. 13:15 – Depart for Otaru by taxi
- 3. 14:10 – Arrive in Otaru city
- 4. 14:30 – View the coastal scenery at Otaru Shukutsu Coast
- 5. 15:20 – Stroll along Otaru Sakaimachi Street
- 6. 15:40 – Dining at a seafood restaurant on the same street (guest only)
- 7. 16:40 – After strolling Sakaimachi Street, board the chartered taxi at Marchen Square and head to Sapporo (see-off to the hotel)
What Is a Private Day Trip from Sapporo to Otaru Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The original plan was to guide the guests around Sapporo City, but the day before, the guests mentioned that they had already toured Sapporo City on their own. At the guests' request, we changed the plan to a trip to Otaru instead. For transportation, we chartered a taxi for the round trip (paid by the guests).
Under mild, sunny weather, on the way to Otaru the guests caught sight of the beautiful deep blue of the Sea of Japan on the right side and cheered with delight. When I introduced the fresh seafood of Otaru, the guests said they very much wanted to try it, so I took them to a seafood restaurant. The guests appeared to be very satisfied.

I live in Sapporo, Hokkaido, the northernmost island of Japan. I know you are a guest of a luxurious ocean liner. You will visit Otaru on April 21. Otaru is a port city, known for its tasty seafood. The city was once an economic hub of Hokkaido. You will see the former canal, Sakaimachi Street, where a lot of sushi bars, glass-blowing studios, museums, and gift shops. While in the suburbs, Mt. Tengu or Shukutsu Peninsular, where you will have a panoramic view including an ocean view. Please entertain yourself on the luxurious passenger boat. These spots will certainly entertain you.
